Items used for the project and favorite part of the storage solution:
I thought your readers would be interested in seeing my solution because it's an inexpensive way to add style to basic storage.

I bought a basic white IKEA Malm dresser for under $150. Then used glue to apply leftover grasscloth wallpaper (originally purchased at Lowe's for less than $30 a roll) to the drawer fronts. Next I applied grosgrain ribbon from Joann's to the edges, creating a frame. This was the trickiest part since I had to cut fairly exact 45 degree angles for all the corners. Lastly, I drilled holes and inserted hardware from Anthropologie that I bought on sale for less than $3 each.
Voila! A cheerful custom storage solution for baby's clothes without a hefty pricetag.

What's your best storage tip for families with children?:
Get your kids to clean up after themselves!
Thanks for your entry, Julia!

What a beautiful dresser - I can't wait to hear more about how it was done. Based on this one picture, it looks like Matilda is going to have a lovely room!
Hi there!
Cute baby room.
I simply must know where you purchased that lamp. I've been looking all over for one.
Thanks,
Jen
Hi Jen - I bought the lamp at HomeGoods a few years ago, but spiced up the lampshade by covering it with fabric and craft glue.
where are the prints from? they're great!
Target has lamps like that right now.
Target.com or @ the store?
Goudakat- I made the prints myself. I bought some silver damask-type scrapbook paper for the background and various bright, patterned paper for the animals. Found some silhouette clipart online, enlarged it to the size I needed and cut out the patterned paper along the lines of the silhouettes. Then clued it on and put it in some inexpensive IKEA frames.
I was too late to vote, but I LOVE this! What a fab look, and I love that you're so thirfty and crafty!
I think this is a refreshing take on a baby girl's nursery, a NICE relief from freaking pastel pinks and purples..ugh. I LOVE it, and also resolve to keep things gender-neutral when I have children. (Without resorting to yellow or neutrals, haha.
wow... i cant believe that was a malm dresser and i love the diy prints... thanks for the great ideas. love this nursery!
I have to know.....How did you drill the holes? I afraid to do this and it crack. PLEASE let me know!
thank you!
