With that cleared up, here is a mini-trend I noted at the Home and Housewares show...a rise in matte black goods.
I think it works well for the super familiar items that we all use everyday - a pot, a knife, a teapot, etc., because the matte black finish makes them appear more sculptural. Do you like the look?

Nomade Express Slee...
I really like it! Especially those knives
Stunning. A nice cross between the perfunctory black plastic basics and the chromed out stainless steel looks. It's a fresh look, especially the trash cans, which make so much more sense in a dark color with a non-rust surface. The knives are just gorgeous.
When I first saw the thumbnail for #6, I thought it was a matte black version of Heath Ceramics' Coupe line.
I knew someone with black dishes who said they would never get black dishes again. Any soap residue, water spots, scratches, etc. are immediately obvious on black.
My boyfriend is SUPER into this look on cars - I'm sure he'd appreciate it on our kettle as well.
Hey, how come the site for dakota is unavailable.
How do I find he Dakota dishes?
Love it! Especially the Bodum...
i'm a matte black lover myself. we have a set of dishes and a tea set with a similar finish and always opt for faux (or actual) finishes what mimic cast iron or dark hammered metal.
Wedgwood Black Basalt is a classic.
