Maureen & Lui live in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts in a 780 square foot home that they own. Maureen is a graphic designer who obviously has a knack for interior design. She knew right away that she needed an office to work from and found plenty of room in their small space.
Maureen describes the home and their style as "sailor by day; Shaker by night; 60s-car mechanic who can appreciate a nice mid-century chair when they see one, regardless of how absurdly-priced it is." We find that extremely interesting, and also extremely accurate. The office has dark furniture, rich wood floors and ample light — much like a boat. But there are touches of femininity and chic style thrown in, just to remind you that it's not actually a manly mans house.
We love the ample storage that Maureen has provided in the office — living in a such a small space must present some serious storage problems! There also needs to be something said about the artwork in the office. It's different and bold, of course — but we're really digging it. Vintage posters and album art are a great way to personalize your work space and add a great deal of color and interest.
