Not so mini month. We are very excited about this final double-overtime week that ends our Smallest, Coolest month, but before we get on with it and begin releasing the finalists - two today, two tomorrow and one on Wednesday - we would like to thank everyone for participating. Despite the heat of battle and fact that we have created a process where there will be winners and losers, we hope that everyone who entered - all 31 of you - feel like winners just for entering. You deserve it. There are A. not many people out there with apartments worth sharing under 500 sq/ft and B. even less who are willing to show them off to the world. After reading over the extensive thread from Friday in which many of you chose winners (and a special thanks to MathGeek for holding high the light of reason), we also felt it was worth mentioning that you may be surprised by the finalists.
Why? Because our eight judges agreed on many things, but differed widely on a great deal as well. As they attempted to interpret the "will of the voters" they looked at hard voting numbers, but they also looked at the statistics and your comments on each entry. If truth be told, in every case there was an attempt to promote an underdog as well. As a result when we added up the numbers of their choices we got a unique consensus that left out a few who we thought would surely be in. There was even a tie for the fifth slot that was broken when we realized that Jen & Roy would not be able to be in the finals (Oops, did we just give something away?). So get ready for blood to boil. The final smackdown begins on Wednesday and a ultimate winner will be declared on Friday at 2pm. MGR
