While technically our home is considered Cape Cod, I would describe our decor as Contemporary Modern with a touch of whimsy. We are surrounded by kid made art as well as art found on Etsy and from various travels.
We have a mix of Macy's, Crate and Barrel, Restoration Hardware, Ikea and West Elm treasures that make up the bulk of our home. There are a few Value Village and antique items in the mix, but the majority of the items in our home were purchased over a span of about 15 years. Our home has a lived-in feel, not too stuffy, not too casual. It was once described by a visitor as the small big house. HA! I love that!

Nomade Express Slee...
It looks like in 15 years you have managed to stay clutter-free and comfortable. Would love to see the other rooms like the kitchen and bedrooms. Nice job! :)
Did your children make the painting in the dining room? What kind of medium did you use? Oil paints? Acrylic paints?
We do try to live clutter free despite sharing a home with a six and eight year old. Our home is 2300 sq ft, but with very little storage. We have to be careful about adding too many objects because we don't have a lot of room to store seasonal decor. I'd love to share the rest of my home with everyone -- whaddya say, Apartment Therapy?
The art was made by my eight year old daughter's third grade classroom. The 36” X 48” painting on canvas in the “drip and splash” style popularized by Jackson Pollock. Students worked in groups of six to first paint a multi-chromatic background, and then layered on an array of colors using a combination of paint brush drips, splashes and squirts. Kids used a water based arcrylic paint. I'm proud of the work.
Just five pictures of this home and one is wasted on an arrangement of flowers?
Agree, @care_bear, an odd choice of pictures all around
I too would be interested in seeing the kitchen, and perhaps the bathroom(s). But, all that aside, you've done a great job making your home airy and clutter-free, something that can be difficult to achieve with a Cape-style house.
@K2YHE, here 's a link to my family blog which shows a good amount of my kitchen -- you'll have to scroll through some of the images to get to a wide shot. http://mayacatchingbutterflies.blogspot.com/2012/02/terrarium.html
Also, here's a link to a glimpse of the bathroom: http://crumbsandquibbles.blogspot.com/2011/01/bathroom-addition-is-done.html
The picture of the flowers is a nice one, but it would have been nice to see more revealing pictures of this nice, airy, colorful house.
