"In 1963, Alexander Girard, one of the most decisive figures in American post-war design, created a collection of wooden dolls for use in his Santa Fe home. Inspired by the art of South America, Asia and Eastern Europe, they were meant to be part decorative element and part toy. These whimisical reproductions are based on the originals. Made of solid firwood and hand painted, each comes in its own wooden presentation box."
