just to be sure, this post IS in homage to the monks and citizens of Myanmar, yes?
The protests in Myanmar have been crushed. For now.
My heart thoughts and prayers go out to the brave people of Myanmar. May peace prevail on Earth.
A very nice thought indeed. Myanmar is the name declared by the military junta against whom the monks and Burmese people are protesting. Please consider using Burma as opposed to Myanmar. By doing this, we are supporting those who are risking this life to bring fundamental change. Thank you!
Thanks for explaining the name change (Burma/Myanmar), nongsa. It's helpful to know which is the "people's" name.
I agree that Burma should be used, however, this link might be of interest to someone. There are ways to help people and this is one of them.
My thoughts and prayers to all.

Sometimes we need to take action.
I tend to say Myanmar when I'm in the country, because that's what the folks I know there call the country, and Burma when I'm in the US, since that's the name more commonly used by the British and Americans.
