Meditation: On Learning Lines

Pin it button big

On lazy Sundays, there's nothing better than curling up* with a good book. But for getting through the rest of the days, often it's not whole books we turn to, but single lines of inspiration, calls to action, or simply commiseration from which we draw power or peace.

The folks over at Poets.org call these Life Lines, and it's a real treat to see the lines that matter most to folks and to read brief stories about the situations that summon those lines to mind.

What lines matter most to you? What if you wrote them down someplace handy, and then donated the books your 'power lines' are found in so that somebody else could get the buzz?

Find donation drops near you at the NYC Stuff Exchange. And when you're ready to let more books into your home, check out BetterWorldBooks.com, an online shop that sells used books at a fair price, offers Carbonfree™ Shipping, and uses the proceeds to fund great projects like Room to Read.

*And don't forget to take the Apartment Therapy DonorsChoose Challenge to give somebody else a place to curl up too.
