We love our neighbors to the North and especially our readers to the North and Vancouver-based Jackie is representing our Canadian cousins on the writing side. Her graphic design background gives her a trained eye for good, clean design, but she's also a nature and travel lover and weaves these loves into her posts with regularity. Let's get to know Jackie a bit better:

Meet Jackie
A little bit about me: Besides blogging here on Ohdeedoh and on my own blog, weelife, I am first and foremost a graphic designer (with a random degree in Psychology and Criminology). My two favorite jobs so far have been managing the creative department for my local NHL hockey team and being on the design team creating the Look of the Games for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Now I am freelancing part-time and expanding my creative pursuits to include photography and fabric design.
If travel can be considered a hobby then that would definitely be at the top of my list. My husband and I got bad bites from the travel bug years ago. We have 28 countries on our tick list, almost all of which we have seen together, and we have as many on our wish list. Our little guy has been to as many countries as he has years, including Morocco, Panama, and Cuba. I doubt we will be able keep up that pace but we are all excellent armchair travelers too, so that keeps us entertained.
3 adjectives to describe your style: I am of two minds. On the one side my eyes light up to clean, modern, smart design. But I also get drawn to hand done, detailed, quirky work. And if someone is able to make those two work together, I get giddy.
My next DIY project: I'm trying to learn how to sew. It seems ridiculous to design fabric and then not do something with it. And our main bathroom is in imminent danger of being overhauled by the Hubs and myself. I'm very afraid.
My favorite Ohdeedoh post: This is so hard because I am truly inspired, regularly, by each and every writer here. One that stands out for me is Katie's toy BBQ grill though. I mean seriously, did you see this? She made the sweetest mid-Century kid BBQ out of a red plastic salad bowl -- almost too cute for words.
Favorite children's book: I think anything by Dr. Seuss really, especially Oh the Places You'll Go. I get pretty gushy and overwhelmed imagining the potential of little people. I'm a clear candidate for this awesome graduation gift idea. The Invention of Hugo Cabret, by Brian Selznick, is a newer favorite with incredible illustrations and unique method of story telling.
On my fantasy shopping list: I seriously heart furniture by Zoe Murphy. So in love with her work.
Favorite room featured on Ohdeedoh: Of course I have so many favorites but I have a special place in my heart for Maëlys and Chloé's No Pretty in Pink Please Girls' Room. Grey is currently my favorite color and I think it's bold to use it in a shared girls room. I love that the space is not too cutesy and that Roxane involved the girls in the design so much including their own artwork on a beautiful collection of pillows.

your fabric designs are so engaging, Jackie.
We LOVE Vancouver! My parents live there and we're always looking for things to do with the kids when we go. Besides the obvious, (endless outdoor activities, Granville Island) we'd love a kid version of the city guide!
Thank you Bernie Brule. : )
Tiffany, I have a few links for you and your family.

Hope that helps next time you are in town!
