One of the criticisms about CFL bulbs beside light quality has been the issue about the minute amounts of mercury contained within each bulb. Last week at the 2008 National Hardware Show, Megalight announced a bulb which contains 30% less mercury, and also lower amounts of lead, cadmium and phosphors within.

Of course, this will all be a moot point when LED bulbs catch up in price point, but in the meantime this is a good step in the right direction...
