Your Favorite Thing About Your Outdoor Space: The screen house is versatile for entertaining during the day and night, and it's bug free! Our guests often gravitate to this space during the summer months. We have two ceiling fans in the rafters to keep everyone cool. The string lights a just the right amount of light for socializing on warm evenings.
Biggest Design Challenge With This Space: Choosing a color palette for this space was the biggest challenge. Once we found the retro metal cooler on a serious sale, we had somewhere to start. The red and turquoise cushions and pillows are vibrant, while the black furniture and grey striped floor are more subtle. Turquoise is a popular color this summer making additional accessories like the vases or the votives on the picnic table easy to find.
Tips for Creating a Great Small Outdoor Space: Repurpose what you already have and don't be afraid to paint. The previous owners left us with a blank canvas. We chose to paint wide stripes on the floor to really enhance the overall. These stripes create the illusion of space. The bench is an unused coffee table. We added sides and a back to the table with decorative molding. The chairs and picnic table were items that we had, but were not in the best shape. With some sanding and black spray paint they were refreshed.
Thanks, Meghan and Rob, and good luck!

The stripe floors are a nice, unexpected element for outside.
Great Space! It looks like you can entertain a crowd or an intimate dinner all in the same space. I love that you re-purposed so many items "one man's trash is another man's treasure!"
Nice! Very casual & relaxing! Like a summer camp for grown ups. I want to lie down on that sofa with a good book & promptly take a nap! Wake me when drinks are being served! Love it.
I like the way that the different elements are tied together by your choice of colors. Everything seems to fit in very nicely. It creates a very inviting spot for relaxing.
Love this place! It has a really nice feel to it (through just the pictures) I really like the colors. It seems sooo relaxing, a place that I would love to have when I can afford it for sure. Nice n' cozzy :) <3
Reminds me of cabins at Girl Scout Camp! Way cool.
