Name: Meghan
Location: Williamsburg — Brooklyn, New York
My home is a complete extension of my own style. I work in the photography field, so in my mind, our apartment is always ready for a still life photo shoot.
We have a mish mash of items we have collected over the years from family, vintage stores, travels and from working on set. I think its important to mix color with negative space, so a place that is small doesn't feel to cluttered. And of course is key to be clever with storage. All in all, my home is inspiring but still feels very much like a home.
Thanks, Meghan!

These pics don't give a sense of what the home looks like.
I love this place! So beautiful, sweet and cozy.
Love the rug in the bedroom!!!! Where is it from?
I hope nobody ever wants to read that copy of THE SOMETHING SOMETHING OF WESTERN ART again.
I agree with Jasmine. The pictures are not fine for a house tour. Though they are nice vingettes, they do NOT showcase the apartment- which is the point, right? I would like to see proper apartment shots because her style seems interesting.
it's a House CALL people, not a House TOUR. if you frequent AT, then you know there's a difference.
if it were a House TOUR, then you would have room to complain.
do agree that some pulled back photos would be nice, but looks very cool from what we can see here.
and i am BEGGING you to share where that bedside table came from! :)
I love that couch! Re: the vignettes - those are appropriate in a house call. That being said, I still think these photos are not good. They seem heavy handed with the photo editing software.
I think the staircase and bed corner are intriguing, though I don't get much of a sense of the style from the other 3 photos. I'd like to see a house tour and get a better grasp of the overall style.
The side table is from West Elm; I considered buying it myself!
Your framed photo and Polaroid walls are my fave, and love the "still life" concept of designing your home!!
I think there's still plenty of room to complain when it's merely a House Call (although I don't think it will cause most submitters to change their tactics). And I don't see where anyone gets off telling someone to "shut up" for sharing this opinion.
@dirce79
I agree about whatever filter they're using. Imagine if she provided all the pics for the House Tour....
so is AT starting to erase comments just because they call for more pulled back pictures that showcase what the apartment looks like?
Is the dining room table and chairs from Pier One? I used to have something very similar from Pier One! Love the bedroom side table!
I think the no-case bookcase is very cool visually, but is there a method to extract a book from the bottom?
@takife
... I don't think that has happened? I know one comment got erased, but I assume it wasn't for criticism of the blogged material.
More Please!
love the colors and look!
What does "mix color with negative space" mean?
The Hipstamatic is strong with this one.
I too wish the photos were more revealing and the design was more functional.
Though I don't really have patience for the stacked-books trend, I think it's really cool how yours are color coded!
Loved the bookcase photo... and realized I have almost the same selection. Do you have 2 copies of "I Like You" by Amy S?
I want to like these photos but they are two close up to get a sense of the design. It really feels like it just belongs in a color theory swatch board
I think I would really like the space in person. I'm just distracted by the photo editing. The saturation and fuzziness might make them more "interesting" as pictures, but it doesn't help the viewer get a feeling for the design of the place; if anything, it obscures the details.
Thumbs Up: the bowl of fruit and the assortment of votive holders on the dining table, plus the gallery art wall behind. Thumbs Down: the books placed willy-nilly on the shelf. What's the point?
