Name: Meg
Location: Washington, DC
My home is a mix of English Country and traditional American. I decorated it on a budget over the course of a few years, collecting treasured (but inexpensive) pieces at flea markets around the city and in Virginia.
Every piece has a story - from my favorite porcelain elephant table to an indian carving to a set of soldier prints I hung inside the entry. The space is quite small - 644 square feet - but I've made use of every nook and cranny without making it seem too cluttered. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Thanks, Meg !

Love the mirror in the bedroom, as well as the curtains. Bed doesn't really seem to work, though. Curtains and the mirror are more hollywood regency/deco, and the bed is more Americana.
I love that old settee you have at the foot of your bed.

Would you mind sharing where you got the curtains?
Thank you.
I should have said that I love your place. I was selfish to focus on the curtains--the brown ones--that would be perfect for my house.
What is that pink, basket looking thing in the second picture? I am strangely in love with it!
I wouldn't change a thing, Meg. Everything fits together perfectly. A gorgeous place to call home.
Nicely done! I love your place.
I think that the bedroom curtains are from Ikea! Or at least Ikea has some great priced ones that look awfully similar.
From Meg - a few responses to your comments:
I bought the fabric and hemmed the curtains myself. Living room plaid fabric is from Fashion Fabrics Club and bedroom trellis fabric is from Discount Fabric USACorps. If you find fabric you like and send me measurements, I'm happy to hem them for you!!
The pink, basket looking thing is one of a pair of fantastic Chinese lanterns that my friend Pam gave me for my birthday. She has a fabulous blog - check it out: www.howtorunyourlife.blogspot.com
