We love ourselves a beatufiul luminary created with the most mundane of materials: the paper bag. Here, however, is a way to jazz it up a bit with yet another mundane material: the crayon:
The colorful wax of melted crayons adds a stained glass-type beauty to these luminaires. Perfect for fall, put one out on the stoop to bring a little more magic to the season. See the full tutorial on making some yourself at Aunt Peaches.

Nomade Express Slee...
"We love ourselves a beatufiul [correct to 'beautiful'] luminary"
yeah what is up with all the grammatical/spelling errors on AT lately?
as for the melted crayon luminary, let's keep it in the kindergarden classroom where it belongs.
Don't know why, but a real candle flame in a paper bag scares me to no end......
Hey thanks for the shout out AT!
PS: For the record, "beatufiul" looks good to me! The occasional copy editing glitch is a small price to pay for the gobs of amazing *free* content you guys turn out everyday :)
Thanks again AT team!
"Luminaria" (or "farolito" if you live in Santa Fe; it's not, and should never be, "luminary" unless you're speaking about a celebrity. Just as it should be "chile" and not "chili" (unless you're talking about a Texan dish). I like to honor, not erase, origins whenever possible.
4 out of 5 people above, need to get laid!
Aunt Peaches, you might notice that my copy edits are also free. I'm a pro, and since I notice them, I just comment as I go, assuming AT will make the correction and delete my post. They're welcome to stand by their errors or make use of what I would notice anyway.
No harm or insult intended. I love AT content.
These are so beautiful! Would be great for an evening party out on a lawn, or a porch.
Thanks, ebrown! I love knowing the history of words and using words that connect me back to the lives of the humans who created the term.
