If you're not going out of town, three day weekends are the perfect time to get going on all those pesky little projects on your to-do list. After all, you've got a little extra time on your hands and if you're entertaining this Monday, it's nice to have the place in top form. So what will you be working on?
We're going to spruce up our entryway with a coat of paint and a few decorative accents, even though we should probably call it quits. What are your plans? We'd love to hear 'em.

love that color!
I am just drooling over that color. I was going to try and take a break from projects, but not now.
I must know what color this is!
I agree with the color... love it! And this weekend I'm tackling my balcony. I've just moved in and need to make a little oasis out there. I'm so excited! I can't wait to drink ice tea and read a book out there.
Oh! I like that color a lot!
Unfortunately I am working over the weekend. So no projects for us. Dang.
I've still got a couple of boxes to unpack from my move. I also have a few flowers left to plant.
Clean, clean, clean oh and put a million things away where they belong. I work two jobs and my place gets very cluttered and every once in a while I can't take it anymore (usually on long holiday weekends!).
I'm staining my deck. Actually it's almost done, I cleaned it Thursday night and spent four hours staining last night. There's just a bit to touch up today since I ran out of light. It will be nice to finally get one big project crossed off my to-do list.
going to mother-in-laws house yawn... but coming back in time to paint the master bedroom and hopefully start on our son's room and get everything done!
finishing our home-built screen door.
grilling out with the family - and forcing them to help us climb ladders and paint trim! ;)
Well, other than tidy up the place (stacks of clean laundry everywhere!), I have a chair that I found on the sidewalk that I've been meaning to refinish and replace the cushion. I this weekend is a good time.
that color is soooo pretty! It makes me hungry for some reason?
I'm finally getting around to painting my bedroom, going from ''bedroom for 2 lets pick something neutral green'', to ''I can finally have my way now that I'm single pale pink'' .
then painting artwork (at least trying to), shopping for fabric & cute stuff to put in my new bachelorette room.
I am hoping to rip off an old set of upper cabinets in my kitchen and replace them with open shelving. And I'm painting the walls a Moroccan red...
The (too large) house just sold, and I am downsizing to a studio apartment. My weekend is the start of the sorting through way to much stuff in anticipation of a sale. I'm in the mood to be ruthless!
Catching up at the office...
...then hopefully clearing out some clutter that's seems to accumulate in my hallway every once in a while.
shopping for stuff that i've been inspired by AT to do, putting up shelves to display family photos, and going back to the art store to get more stretchers.
and starting a painting of cup cakes... cause i'm weird like that.
We are finishing reupholstering our chairs (a project that took 6 months for no reason whatsoever) and tackling a tv stand found curb side with some paint and wallpaper
We're painting our dining room and bedroom with the most outrageous pinks and oranges we could find and finally hanging all the awesome Mayan masks we bought on our honeymoon
We just bought new doors for all the bedrooms and hall closets so I'll be painting those. Including making chalkboard paint to use on the doors to my daughter's rooms.
As the culmination of a VERY long bedroom stencil project, I will finally be painting today! AT had to go and call me out several posts ago by saying, "you will have finished painting in the first month you've moved in." Pssh.
Then there will be a trip to home depot for closet shelving and a few other other odds and ends.
Painting the bathroom..................Finally
I'm working Monday, overtime...good $...sure can use it! I've been working on my garden, pulling old plants that didn't work out, and adding perennial plants that hopefully will work out. I'm trying to make a conscience effort to have an easier to maintain garden. I'm going with plants like hostas, grasses and other perennial plants that come up every year without adding a lot of annuals. I'm liking the natural, textural look more and more. It was getting to be too much work in the past. :)
Did anyone find out what that colour is!?
My daughter and I went yard sale shopping and my husband and I ripped out the platform that our shed sits on.
Oh way too many! I definately have too many going on.
I just moved back into my (enormous) room after painting it. I need to load up my bookshelf, find a table, find a lamp, find some curtains, find a modern duvet cover, upholster an ugly chair, get my clothes chest built!
I couldn't sleep Friday night, and couldn't figure out why. The next day I found out why! My refrigerator had died in the past 48 hours and I was missing the familiar hum. Then I opened the door. P-U!!! My Memorial day was spent finding a deal on a frig.
I got a big project done yesterday and today that I had begun three weeks ago and had to abandon when I got sick: putting up 14 works of art in an arrangement spanning an entire wall in the "reading room" off my kitchen! All of the art I had for ages ... some of it had been hanging in my old apartment, and some of it had just gotten framed. Originally I had mapped it out on the floor, but then decided it was too boring and symmetrical and just decided to "wing it." Some of the works I thought would be included turned out not to be, and some of the things I wasn't planning on using were perfect ... I am pleased with the way it came out, and amazed at some of the subtle relationships between shapes, colors, and subjects that I wasn't entirely aware of as I was working on it.
Jane, that sounds nice. Would it be possible to post a photo?
Planted a Japanese maple, moved 3 azaleas away from the house (the builder's landscaper ignored my instructions about not wanting pink/purple -- looks horrible with the teal siding), planted 3 white rhododendrons instead. Too many holes with rocks in them, too much heat, too many bugs... glad that job is done!
junklover: I do have a photo, but I don't know how to post it!
: )
