Shaw's Original Fir...
This is sooo cute !!! and also a good idea to try at home !!
That's cute, clever and, I guess, good for small spaces. Like, if you're *dying* to plant something but the only room you can find is one square inch of window sill. You can even pat yourself on the back for re-using the bottle cap from that Coke you shouldn't have drank last night.
To me, though, this seems like someone's clever money-making idea to sell useless, cheap things to people buying without thought. You could set up literally dozens of these things with one pack of seeds and the tiniest bit of dirt - for pennies apiece. But, hey, I don't drink soda and I've always been able to find room for a plant or two.
I thought Re-Nest was about re-using things and finding a way to live with less. This product is silly at best. If you don't have enough room for a potted plant, it might be time to de-clutter.
@upndown, no one's saying you have to buy this particular kit, and agreed you could most certainly set up a dozen or so yourself if you feel inclined. But the idea is unusual enough to be worth mentioning.
I don't think it's such a bad concept. Seems to me that kids would love Teh Cuteness. Piquing an interest in gardening and plants at a young age can lead to bigger and better things.
perfect size for a guerilla seed bomb!
while this is in a way cute.. specially if you are into decorating a dollhouse.. lol .. where do you get seeds to the plants they are growing?
It would be very easy to do this on your own, but what kind of microgreens could you plant in a bottle cap?
Clicked to see the actual website.. but its in japanese .. so.. what kind of plants are these?
residentgeek -- according to the manufacturer they are basil seeds, but they plan on expanding to other plants soon.
Very cute...and it lasts about 1 week. These aren't plants, folks, they're seedlings. Sorry, but this strikes me as useless clutter.
thanks rachel.. :)
I think it is cute, but wouldn't you have to water it like every day to keep them alive? Gah.
So cute! Gonna try it :)
