Over a year ago, we blogged about Eddie's Furniture in Somerville, Masschusetts as a fantastic destination for curated, affordable, secondhand furniture with personality. Lucky for you, Eddie and his brother recently opened up a new shop just down the road!...
Metamorphosis continues Eddie's tradition of giving old pieces some TLC with a fresh coat of paint or a new skin of fresh fabric on upholstered goods. The prices at Metamorphosis are a little higher than Eddie's but you can still find some great deals. Just the other day we picked up a sweet yellow Moroccan side table for $45 and an antique silver painted mirror for $40.
So next time you're in the market for some new (old) pieces for your place, make a tandem trip to Eddie's Furniture AND Metamorphosis. You're nearly guaranteed to find something special!

Love the fabric on those dining room chairs.
There is a store in Encinitas, CA that does sort of the same thing -- Rustic Rooster on Hwy 101. It's tiny and cute with great finds.
The furniture is divine, but I would love to see some before and afters to show how amazing furniture we might have otherwise given up on can become. Great work though!
Great idea but I stopped into this place and the prices were completely outrageous. Too bad.
I stopped in at the store last night and I scored a dresser and a beautiful blue desk with delivery for under $400! The prices on the tags might seem high but the owner is willing to make deals. Bonus: The owner, Eddie, is super nice and he delivers in the metro area!
Does anybody know of a place like this (cool, funky, vintage, inexpensive!) in the Seattle/Portland area? This place looks like heaven!!
Portland has a number of used/modern/vintage furniture places on Hawthorne.
I just got some furniture reupholstered here and the service was excellent!
