It's the first perfectly square bottle in our shower, ever. We've just spent the past week putting Method Bloq's (not blog) new skincare line through it's paces and liked it.
It's a little confusing to keep track of at first because everything looks the same, but this new line features four products (body wash, shave cream, soap and moisturizing lotion) in four different scents (citron leaf, beach sage, green mint and water flower).
The various lotions and liquids are all totally eco sensitive, but refreshingly tingly and attractively scented. They are not heavy or cloying, went on and washed off easily. Each one was very different as well, and we found ourselves changing our minds as to which "flavor" we liked best.
The body wash, soap and lotion were the best, while the shave cream left a little to be desired. It was thin and not very effective at protecting our precious face. We wouldn't switch here.
The biggest problem we had was with the innovative, square packaging. While we know that Method always has cool packaging, we found these square bloq's just oozed a non-eco "plastic" feeling, which was hard to get over. While they sat well on our bath shelf, they also didn't fit in with our other products and didn't win for looks. They reminded us of milk boxes at school. However, that is a totally subjective criticism, and we are sure there are those out there (especially gym rats - they fit well into a locker) who will praise the shape and love the difference.

*wonders if they'll sit nicely in her shower caddy*
I think I read somewhere that the squareness is part of the eco-friendly design - allows Method to ship these items in quantity with minimal additional packaging or wasted space. I suppose if you really wanted to be eco-friendly though you'd just use plain old bar soap, no?
I like the shave cream for my legs though. Used it this morning, works very well.

I'm currently using Method's Creamy Body Wash and it's only $5 for a 15 oz. The bloq is eco-friendly, but at only 12 oz. for $8, are we paying the fancy packaging? While shopping at Target last week, as I was looking to restock on the creamy body wash, I discovered the bloq's interesting bottle. When I attempted to open the flip top to take a sniff, it took a few tries before success. Because of that and the hefty price tag, I put it back on the shelf. Overall, I think Method should keep their products eco-conscious and budget-friendly. Hopefully, they won't discontinue their other lines of body wash either!
I love the new method body bloq! Green mint is my favorite, FAVORITE! I just sit and smell myself all day long (everything thinks I'm a freak now, though. LOL) I too, had problems opening the bottle at first, as I tried to take off the entire "lid", and it DID come off after a while, but that's not how it opens, it has a simple slim pop hinge top, so give it another try. I'm afraid to say that they are indeed discontinuing the entire original body wash line, so that's a bummer (I love some of those scents as well.) The body bloq is only $5.99 in Target stores (it's $8. online, which is a bit steep. But their prices are more online.) The creamy body wash line has been discontinued from Target stores for quite a while, as well. I also agree with the shaving cream, it's an odd thing. I'm not sure what's in it, but it ends up gumming up my razor, and it doesn't foam up much at all. My face is sad. I think I'll stick with the wash and lotion, which I love. The scents are awesome! So earthy!
I wonder what type of campaign is going to help spread this product around? Anybody seen anything cool yet? There's a lot of potential in the packaging design.
The Body Bloq boxes of 2 bars of soap and the Body Bloq body wash are selling (new) for $1.49 each at Goodwill Industries in the Flint and Lapeer areas of Michigan, possibly more places too. They have a huge stock of them. If you like them and live in that area, you can really stock up at a very low price. I know I stocked up on them.
