MetroPlay Playhouse

MetroPlay Playhouse

Aug 10, 2007

Sometimes, the best escapes are to your own back yard. This is the new MetroPlay, a combination jungle-gym, swingset, and outdoor room. The big selling point? That center room, which functions as a playhouse when the kids are small, and a standalone room when they grow up. At 8'x8', with a 7' ceiling height, that could be a small home office, someday. Below, another view, and we let the old 'pro/con' list decide how useful a MetroPlay might be.

PRO: Sleek and modern design; be the envy of your neighbors.
CON: You need a backyard - a fairly large one.
PRO: Unlike most children's playhouses, this one has a plan for what do to do with it once the kids are grown up.
CON: Would you really use this as an extra room, or would it end up becoming an expensive storage shed?
PRO: Clear walls mean you can see exactly what is happening in the playhouse at all times - no way for the kids to get away with playing doctor or experimenting with cigarettes inside.
CON: Even after downloading the order form, we have no idea what the configurations above would cost. We guess....lots!
PRO: One of the swing configurations is for an adult-sized swing.

What are your pro/cons for the MetroPlay?
