As you may have noticed I am fascinated with stereo consoles. The idea of a credenza that houses a retro turntable is just so awesome, and I've been obsessed with hunting one down for weeks now. Finally this morning, a gentleman had one for sale in the Santa Barbara section of Craigslist for $50. Luckily my parents who live there, were happy to go pick it up for me. Though I am a fan of the mid century dark wood, I am in the midst of giving my entire apartment a face lift.

As I make considerable changes to my 450 square foot studio apartment, I have realized I love bits of Hollywood Regency style. I thought maybe my new credenza could look lovely painted white and I could do various parts of the small moulding or trim in gold or soft blue. What do you think? Should I turn this mid century style console into a glossy white Hollywood Regency style credenza?

Here are a few of my inspirations:

1. I fell in love with Savannah's gorgeous long white credenza, it really was quite stunning in all white.

2. Found this high dresser on Decor Crush and loved it with the mirror!

3. The look of the stylish office is soft and inspiring and I love this sleek white desk. As seen on Decor Pad.

4. When I found this image on Style Soloniste, I knew that the idea of white with accents of soft pale blue could be a good option.

I do love its original wood finish — I just think sanding it down, buffing it and giving it a nice shiny coat of white paint could be a great makeover the look of my entire apartment. It's an easy way to mimic the white lacquer look of most common regency dressers. What do you think?
