Q: I’m moving next month to Los Angeles, CA from Columbus, Ohio where we have some surprisingly great vintage shops that I am sad to be leaving. Since I will be needing to furnish my new apartment and my style is mostly mid-century modern, I’m looking for recommendations for great mid-century modern resources in the Los Angeles area. Do you have any suggestions?

I've been saving this post from HGTV's Emily Henderson, http://www.stylebyemilyhenderson.com/blog/la-secret-shopping-resources.html, for a trip to LA, but maybe some of these resources might help you out.
Happy Hunting!
This is Not Ikea! It can be a little pricey but there are some really great vintage finds there. And the great thing about TINI is that they update their purchases EVERY WEEK and everything is listed online!

Welcome to the West Coast Anne!
Congrats on your move! If you're willing to drive a wee bit, Boomerang for Modern in San Diego (boomerangformodern.com) has been in the biz since the 80's, long before the MCM trend went crazy. They know what they're doing and have beautiful pieces all the time. Good luck!
TINI (thisisnotkiea) is a great resource, and for fancier stuff, NoHo Modern is spectacular.

This place in North Hollywood is fantastic. Gigantic warehouse, no need for appointment, fair prices for wonderful pieces.
The Pasadena City College flea market(1st sunday)and Long Beach flea (3rd sunday of the month). But i can guarantee the prices will be much higher than you're used to. Good luck!
HAUS and Blueprint are both great. There are also two or three little shops on Sunset Blvd. in Silver Lake that have terrific vintage stuff. Welcome!
Thank you all for sharing - this will make MY visit to LA in June a lot more fun :)
If you're on the Long Beach/South Bay area check out 4th Street in Long Beach for a row of vintage/mid-century furniture stores.
City Life Home Furnishings in Brea! It's a 20-25 minute drive but totally worth it! There are vintage pieces as well as new. And an eclectic spin to everything! Their website is www.citylifehome.com. Check out the "store shots" or their Facebook page to get a feel for it! Welcome to town!
Amsterdam Modern is great. They have a warehouse in Van Nuys and a store in Silverlake at Sunset Junction called Mohawk General Store.
-Mohawk General Store / Amsterdam Modern
-Danish Modern LA
-Lawson Fenning
-Gibson
-This Is Not Ikea
-Melrose and Fairfax every Sunday for swapmeet
Out of Vogue in Fullerton. It's a vintage store that specializes in mid century modern furniture...waaaay more affordable than anything you'll find in LA. AND they currently have a womb chair with ottoman that needs a good home!! :)
modernway in palm springs!
Across the street from Mohawk in Silver Lake is Bebop Design. They have reasonable prices and the owners are cool folks.
Another vote for Danish Modern LA, then go across the street to the Thirsty Crow and have a Sazerac!
Try Surfing Cowboys in Venice - http://www.surfingcowboys.com/
gotta try sunbeamvintage.com in highland park los angeles 90042
