What is the advantage of SMALL? Small means that unless you are a determined packrat, you have no choice but to narrow down your belongings to those things that truly matter, are necesary, and/or beautiful...

What is the advantage of SMALL? CONT'D
There have been times I've dearly wished I had more closet space, but I also like knowing that I will never have a home full of clutter - I'm a neat freak by nature, and living small keeps me on track. Me and my two chi's live quite happily here!
What's your favorite resource for your home?
My home is a collection of basics from IKEA and West Elm, along with some really fantastic Craig's List finds. My 50's art deco dining table was a custom ordered Pottery Barn item that a family simply outgrew and sold to me for a song!
b>What is your one favorite element in your small, cool home?
My favorite part of my small cool is my kitchen. When I was looking for a place, I found few homes in my price range that came with a kitchen I thought was both appealing, and user friendly. My kitchen, I believe, is both!

I love it!
Very nice! It looks stylish, tidy, and comfortable. I, too, like the kitchen in particular. And I spotted a puppy, too!
(P.S. I think one of your dimensions is wrong on the floorplan...)
Since when was Atlanta Mid-West???
Atlanta is the Midwest now?! (nice place btw).
I like this very much. And I think you convinced me to get that Noresund bed.
Love your all-white bedding!
This looks like a comfortable and inviting home.
Cute place. I really like the bathroom sink. Nice pop of color.
630ft is ENORMOUS. I think you should limit this feature to places that are under 400sf.
Yeah, Atlanta is definitely NOT in the midwest, which I think proves AT needs its next city to be in the Southeast.
I like it a lot, it's clean and fresh, and genuinely looks like someone lives there. But it doesn't have the extra something (e.g. creative storage, ingenious use of space) that would push me to a Super-Cool vote.
Very sleek and stylish. I like the clean furnishings. Nice job!
nice use of warm colours on the walls... however, I don't get the use of dried flowers near/on the bed posts.
now that's a lot of ikea...
It's sleek and fresh. I like it.
BUT... although I like some of these places, IMHO, AT has lost the "UMPH" that drew me in, in the first place. I say let's get back to what the homes in AT2005 had.
The chihuahua is cute
Miss Bliss here, thanks everyone for the comments.
I have been in my condo for just under a year. The building was a massive conversion from what basically was a crumbling apartment building, with squatters, and everything! I am the first resident, since the renovation, for this unit.
I still have things that need to be worked on. The bonus area in need of some stylish *and* effective storage solutions. In the model unit, they have an IKEA system - a glass computer desk, connected to steel rods, with a clothes rack, and shelving.
I have two chihuahuas, and as you might guess from the art, one is blonde, one is black. They give the home a lot of its liveliness and heart!
The eucalyptus over my bed is to counteract any stuffiness and odors. It freshens the air in there, quite well, but I don't always have it hanging.
Thanks again for your votes and feedback - I've been waiting to be even *close* to entering since '05. Hopefully next year I can come back, even stronger!
So cute to see the real live chihuahua with the chihuahua art!
One more thing - I've gotten some emails asking me about the big pink print over the TV - it's Warhol's take on a Life Saver's ad, from the late 60's.
Very pretty.
For those who are wondering, Atlanta is actually due south of Detroit, and I'm sure it was entered in Midwest, because there's no Southeast option. (I'm guessing the number of folks who posted today on the other thread that the next regional Site should be Atlanta would agree.)
love it especially like the green glass basin in the bathroom
the bathroom is well organized, I feel like the living room space could be better arranged.
while i find this apt nice and tidy, i don't find it to have any resourceful tricks or "wow" moments.
I really like this space. It feels like a REAL home, not an advertisement for overpriced designer furniture that really isn't very comfortable. SO FREAKING WHAT if there are IKEA pieces throughout...they work well in this space!
>>>It feels like a REAL home
Agree completely. I love the bedroom and the chihuahua art with real chihuahua is a nice marrying of style and real life!
Was the bathroom sink original to the apartment? If not, where did you get that from? It looks really comfortable there.
Yes, the bathroom sink was put in during the renovation - I will say, I love all the glass, but having no storage in a bathroom has not been easy. I'm continually working with figuring out storage that looks good, and works well. I currently have stainless stell rollcarts that go under the sink, but I'm not 100% pleased with them.
Please tell me my depth perception is off in the picture and you don't really have your couch blocking your access to your porch!
Nope, no porch there. It's French Doors, but just a Juliette balcony.
I tend to agree that the space, while nice, seems, I don't know, a little flat, nothing to "wow" me. Where are the books, the music storage and all that? If there, it's not shown in the pictures and no showing of creative storage solutions unless you have really pared down and have little to store. :-)
That bonus space between your bedroom and bath, I want, I'd love to move my desk from my bedroom to that space so it's not in the living/dining room areas of my 1 bedroom apt.
Music and books are not shown, because there is not attractive storage units yet - cd's and books are still in (discrete) boxes, almost a year after move in - yikes!
Nice kitchen.
May I suggest you make a decision which room that art piece is in: the dining or living room.
Move it (left) and lower.
Get rid of the dried flowers flanking the bed frame.
Does nothing but detract from the lines of the piece of furniture.
You've blocked access to a balcony?
i better look at this again.
:)
I love the light about the table, but I think something more could have been done with the living room space. I'm jealous of the kitchen though!

You have a lovely, comfortable home...I especially love the green sink, and the clean, crisp, all-white bedding.
Since the voting is over, I wonder if it's kosher to put a link to my flickr site, where there are more pics of my place? (Just for viewing pleasure) :)
why does the voting end so early? i was away from my puter for a week.
Uh oh. It looks like I have some Atlanta competition. I thought I was the only one on here. And i totally agree that Atlanta is not in the Midwest.
Not really concerning your decor - but your coffee maker looks really cute. What kind is it?
(I'm losing our awesome coffee maker when my ex moves out, so I need a new one, haha)
Love the bathroom.
Lemonader,
It's actually from Gevalia. :)
thanks BS. I wish it was possible to photograph the poppies on the opposite wall better.
This is how a grownup apartment should look. It looks so inviting and comfortable. Very well done.
Thanks for sharing.
