What inspired you to use color? Orange is the color that represents rebirth. It stands for all there is to come and all that is new. It screams welcome to a whole new you!
Inspiration continued: As I enter my apartment after a long and winding day, I want the orange hue to stand for the sunrise that will come the next day and make me feel like tomorrow is a new day and not cry over my today. Doesn't Fall stand for rebirth too? Melange of a beautiful sunset giving birth to a beautiful dawn!
Color Tip: Don't overuse orange. Too much orange will mean you are totally living in your tomorrow and not today! Orange and black go well together. .

Wow, so many of these entries have orange! That makes me so happy. :)
The orange and black combination is borderline halloween-y, but I still like it.
And that green feather decal on the wall... awesome!
This entry gets a yay! :)
I am a fan of this entry as well...the "wings" by the TV are super fun
The orange paint, black furniture and beige carpeting don't work well together for me - it's like a rec room that's been decked out for a permanent Halloween party.
Wasn't this an entrant a year ago, or in another AT contest? Maybe Smallest Coolest? Or a home tour? I know I've seen it here before. It's a bit too much black for me, given all the orange, but the orange itself with the light accents is nice.
I think this looks great! Then again, I am a die-hard Halloween fanatic
This one looks lie every bachelor apartment I've seen...one brightly painted accent wall behind the black leather couch behind the ikea coffee table on top of an 80's style rug with the halogen floor lamp in the corner. It's obvious that there was an effort made here, which is nice, but it's not contest entry worthy....it's very safe and typical....
This was a home tour a month ago:

I thought I remembered seeing this before.
I agree with a previous post - it's a little safe. Would like to see them really use that color to full advantage - add some more artwork and spice it up a bit.

i like what you did w/ the tv.
i agree that the orange & black combo is a bit halloween. i find that gray works a little better w/ orange.
I'm not a big fan of orange and not just in this post but in general I think black leather sofas mostly look big and kind of cheap. And I'm affraid I also don't like the carpet.
I think a slightly darker orange with dark wood furniture and a lighter sofa would look nicer.
I think you did a good job. Looks well organized and it is clear that you love color
Now that I've seen the 'home tour' photos, it looks even more "college student" than what these photos show it to be. Balancing the Lack table precariously on a "not small enough nor big enough" Ikea round rug is just distracting! It looks like it isn't fully furnished yet...
I agree with amiencc but I have to say I thought it was well done until I saw the red Lack table on the round rug
great that it makes the owner happy, but this is not my speed at all. orange and black together? nuh-uh
Thank you all!
I was born on the Halloween and hence my attachment to Orange...yes 31st October is my birth-date!
I love that the orange stand out from the whites and black. The rug adds a nice dimension to the living space, along with the couch. I see a positive theme going around here - squares/rectangles on one side and circles on the other. Beautiful. Love the TV wall too.
Hey Halloween Baby, you did wonderful job.
Love all tiny things.. THe chess set, the dacals, three round rugs aesthetic orange and ...
