Name: AnnaLocation: Minneapolis, MN
Type of Home: Turn of the Century Family Home

What inspired you to use color? I am a native Californian in Minnesota. I added color to our home to bring the warmth inside during the long winter and to give my kids an inspired start.
Color Tip: Go ahead, paint it. If you don't like it, you can always repaint! Add color you love in every room of your home to tie the spaces together.
Welcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...
1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide
The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.
2. Voting Phase - you vote til you drop
Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.
Best, Maxwell

WOW! Beautiful use of color! Love the paper lanterns grouped together.
Kudos! I love the way your color choices compliment your gorgeous home and make it so vibrant. Great work!
Beautiful! Your home is gorgeous!
I think this is perfect!
Please share paint color on walls of child(ren)'s room. Also, please tell me about the pendant light with grosgrain ribbon. Did you make it? I really love the vibe of it all. Thanks for sharing.
How FUN! The color choices are wonderful, and I love how whimsical the feel is - makes me want to redecorate. Very good choices here, and so put together. Bravo - fun, fun, fun!
Wow! Definitely my favorite so far. Very cheery colors yet warm at the same time.
Yay, another post of colors that actually remind me of fall! Love the kids' room.
Where did you get the small bench in front of the white chair in your living room? It is so cute! Great place, love your color choices.
It's cute and the colors in the rooms are nice - but I'm distracted by all the paper lanterns/mexican restaurant flags/paper hanging things everywhere.
I think this is my favorite home that's been featured on AT. Wow!
This is my favorite so far!
I'm just wondering if you can share where you purchased the gray couch and the red wood twin bed. I love them both!
We need paint colors please!
just darling
Very very nice!
very good
Gorgeous!
Hands down, this is my favorite so far. Love the use of reds and oranges against the more neutral backdrop. The lanterns and pennants are wonderful!
Super fun and impeccably put-together. Well done!
Warm indeed! Beautiful place!
Great house. It's just so festive with all the lanterns and banners...it's like a party everyday!
Thank you for all the kind words about our home. We love coming home to color. I can answer some questions.
The paint colors for kid's rooms are:
hers... Divine, "Saffron"
his...Sherwin Williams, "Serape"
The orange bench in the living room came from our local reclaimed-funky-antiqu(ish) store, "Hunt and Gather" on Xerxes at 50th in Minneapolis. It was maybe $12. There are all sorts of amazing treasures there. Check it out.
The sofa is from Room and Board, based in Minneapolis. Very comfy for weekend naps.
The ribbon mobile is handmade by me. The base is an old lampshade, also from Hunt and Gather. The ribbons are just hand sewn over the top of the shade. It hangs by another ribbon from a little hook in the ceiling. I spin it over my daughter's bed when it's time for sleep and she loves to watch the colors twirl. My mom was a weaver. The mobile (and this was an after thought) reminds me of when I was a little girl and I used to climb around under her looms and see the light coming through the colorful ribbons woven above me.
Thank you again for you comments.
This shows that you believe in magic and creating it! :)
Definitely one of my favorites so far.
This is just gorgeous.
You should enter your children's room in Ohdeedoh's similar contest. It looks like a winner! :)
Helloooo... Love it, love it. Makes me want to move from California to Minnesota.
This is the winner! And I can say it with certainty because I have been it!
Love this entry, a winner in my book!
This is amazing... I want to live there. Looks cozy and warm and festive, but without feeling cluttered. I loved the colors and all the little details, like the hangings and art objects.
