Name: Chris and JayLocation: Chicago, IL
Type of Home: Condo

What inspired you to use color? Our space is pretty small (under 900 sq feet). We used color to make the space feel brighter, larger and more inviting. We are first time homeowners and wanted our place to be a real reflection of us - white walls just wouldn't do!
Color Tip: Get your hands on a swatch book - it makes color selection so much easier. Really examine the color you are selecting and examine any undertones - colors may look the same in a small swatch but these tiny differences are magnified on a large wall.
Colors Used: Benjamin Moore Nimbus Gray, Blazing Orange, Black Pepper, Coastal Fog and Yarmouth Blue.
Welcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...
1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide
The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.
2. Voting Phase - you vote til you drop
Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.
Best, Maxwell

Finally! A little sophistication.
Love the pillows on the couch! Source?
cool
fresh and light
This is really nice. Very easy on the eyes, but not boring at all.
What a fantastic use of color - just enough to tie everything together and make it flow. Looks soothing and clean. Love it!

I love how Christian from Project Runway is on the flat screen. So fierce!
I love the coverlet on your bed and the cool, sophisticated color palette. You've done a wonderful job!
Again a wonderfull use of babyblue walls...
This is really inspiring to me, as I am a white wall person and actually I often think of a baby blue sleeping room...
Nice.
Love the living room.
Nimbus grey is one of my favorite Benjamin Moore colors, and it works beautifully here, as does everything else here. Neither cluttered nor sterile, this is just right, and the colors have life, but they're still soothing.
Orange chairs, orange on the painting - so beautifully tuned with other colors.
So nice!
Maybe you could also spice up your bedroom a little with some stronger color.
Nice but there is not a strong use of color. I hate the safe color choices.
Great colors and very lovely space.
too much like a page out of an ikea catalogue for me.
agree with gail.gaby as well.
Plates... look at these plates!!
Thanks for the kind words everyone!
PrettyKitty - the pillows are CB2 and Crate and Barrel
lwkathr - I can't believe you noticed that is Christian on the TV! I rushed to get pix taken and perhaps should have taken 2 seconds to turn the TV off. :)
zver - the plates are Riverside Seaglass - we love how you can mix and match colors and styles - and the glassware is Kim Seybert.
looks awesome!
Your place looks fantastic!
Looks Fabulous!
I love how you used multiple colors without it being over whelming.
pretty chic...but sort of gray day for me.
Good job, but what does the rest of the house look like?
Is the Nimbus Gray the main wall colour?? I'm thinking it would be perfect for our bedroom walls.
TIA

love it, what's in the frames above the couch? and where did you find the frames?
I really enjoy some blue interiors as well ...very well done.
Is that the Petrie couch from Crate & Barrel? How is it holding up? It looks like it's becoming a bit flat... was thinking that it may be our next couch... hmm...
Really crisp but still warm & lovely. Nicely done!
