What inspired you to use color? Winter inspires me to use color. Spending 9 months of the year mostly indoors and surrounded by dark browns and greys makes me crave color.
Color Tip: If you are going to use different colors throughout your house make sure that the colors complement each other.
Colors Used: Benjamin Moore Poppy, Benjamin Moore Summer Blue, and Valspar Curry (I think)?
Welcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...
1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide
The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.
2. Voting Phase - you vote til you drop
Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.
Best, Maxwell

Love love love your place! I'm especially in love with your living room and that vibrant red you've used. And I love those vintage dining chairs. Adorable.
Living room is similar to mine, same red and black color scheme. Love the sunny yellow!
Yik. Only the red works.
I love everything that's in these pictures. I wish, though, that more of the space could be seen in a "panorama" kind of way, instead of semi-exclusively close-ups.
Love those red walls!!!!!
There is something missing. I can't exactly say, but I am intrigued by the personality who put together a small showplace, where there are no books on book cases, evenly matched frames, and books and framed art exclusively of and about Negritude. Does anyone actually live there?
Love the main shot of the red living room! It works really well with the black accents and white sofa.
I agree with Usbeck, some books of the shelves would be a nice touch.
And although the rest of the apartment is not my personal taste, I do applaud the use of bright and lively colors throughout. You'll never have a dull winter day at home, that's for sure!
Seems to me that you don't have to crave any more :)
Beautiful colors.
"...some books of the shelves would be a nice touch."
Maybe they're being used as an end table in the other room...
:-\
I love the Living Room - Great Job...
..and the bedroom has a cool "I Dream Of Jeannie" vibe that's kinda fun.
It's perfect for all four seasons actually.
I especially enjoy the yellow walls and bright colors in the dining room - an excellent way to brighten up a sad winter day!
Great colors I love it! It looks very welcoming and at the same time it is very sophisticated too.
the dining chairs are great
i love the bed duvet cover and pillows!
wow this place is superb and colorful..... definetly a brightness on a bleak day. The haram room is interesting but the yellow walls and asian accents are cool
I love everything it has a Moroccan flavor. The bedding reminds me of Marrakesh. I like the display of photos instead of books on the bookcase shelves. I especially love the whole Josephine Baker vibe I thought she was forgotten. Overall the use of color and design is inspirational.
i think it's very vibrant and uplifting. you really made this space your own and the paint is juxtaposed nicely with the furniture colors and it all complements your artwork nicely. good job!
After viewing the other submissions I had to comment again. Great use and commitment to non-safe color choices. A central theme is find though-out the design tying the rooms to together. Classy I did not have look at toilets, trash cans, beds without head boards or the same baby blue and olive again. Finally someone that understands what warm color use is and the design is not to busy. Has a warm lived in feel.
Classy!!!
Yummy Yellow!! Sensual Reds. Royal Purples. You know how to work your colors. Style, sophistication, and color. This is what this contest is all about!
home should be an oasis from the hustle and bustle from the outside world and Devin's does that with her use of color for vibrancy and calm in all the right places.
I may have her come and do my place!
Brilliant color!!!! I love that she chose rich gemstone hues -- very ethnic (a plus), but also warm and inviting.
