What inspired you to use color?
I live in Michigan where it is very dark and dreary for a good portion of the year. How depressing! So I guess you can say that those bright colors are my Prozac. And...paint's cheap and I'm not a rich lady!
Color Tip: A little planning goes a long way. My friend and I planned the basic color scheme together before any paint was purchased. Thank you for taking the time to look at my house! :-D
Colors Used: Dining Room - Celdon Pottery from Valspar Living Room - Linen from Valspar Kitchen - Apple 4 from Valspar Hall - Dill from Valspar

zoreh, you ARE a rich lady--your home is beautiful, and you look at home in it.
The colours evoke a home that is warm and cool, vibrant yet serene, functional and pretty, personal yet open. Good work!
apologies--I meant "Zohreh"!
I love the art or photos hung at pet height. Clever and cute.
Really inspiring use of color. And that sewing room is to die for.
Ditto on the sewing room. That pop of yellow from the chair is perfect.
Good job! Nice to see a Michigander home on this site.
Very pretty. I love the sun porch/deck.
Ooooooo! You need to check out the artwork of fellow Grand Rapidian, Michael Pfleghaar:

It would look great in your place!
Avianmission, you are right. I caught that after I posted and thought, "Oh, but i am rich in many ways!" Thank you! ;-)
Modtramp! I loooooooove his art! Thank you!
I love it!
(my house has similar colours to the lv.room!)
Beautiful use of color. Very nice! Nothing dreary about your lovely home.
Beautiful!! I love all the colors in the dining room! A perfect mix.
I LOVE your bed !
Very inspired and inspiring use of blues and greens...I'm adding this to my style tray as I am "curing" my little craftsman cottage here in (often dreary) Pittsburgh.
Your little kitty is dwarfed by his food bowl!! Too cute!
Very Nice!! I love how you know it feels like home. Love the color combo of green and blue and how you add a little "something something" with the yellow chair and hot pink details in the sewing room!!
Zohreh, just got in from a long work day (I sneak over to AT during the day, though, lol...)...the colors are vibrant and soothing at the same time! Just puts a smile on my face, and the pictures hung for the pets to view is the sweetest thing I've seen all day! Thanks for sharing!

I love your duvet!
Love love love it! Great cushions outside, did you make those?
fantastic colors, your home is beautiful!
i also love your idea of pics at the pets level. is that a real kitty or a little figurine?
thanks for sharing.
Sassydo, that is a little figurine we call "Scarlett's Statue!".
Conversation with cat went as follows:
"Scarlett! Look! Mommy bought you art! A statue of you!"
"Mew mew mew, mew, Zohr's-a-weirdo, mew mew mew".
Tiffany, I sewed/upholstered everything on the porch aside from the two green silk pillows. :-)
What a lovely, happy home, thanks for sharing so much of it! Great use of color! I love the porch, the kitty-eating area (too cute), the turquoise and pink, and I luuurve the dining room!
Hope we see you in the finals.
the picture with the kitty is mega-adorable! :)
I love love love the colors in this space.
Hi Zohreh, Love your chairs in the dinning and living areas. Could you tell me more? Thanks.
Beautiful!
This is my favorite so far - it made me smile and want to hang out at your house.
This is absolutely great! So bright and cheery
Zohreh, I was hating my apple green walls until I saw your entry. Now I realize that what's ON the walls can make all the difference. Kudos to you--truly inspiring!
Love the pillows and the colors! This is very much something I'd do. Cooling, yet bright.
Beautiful colors, well edited stuff, but the minnie kitty art--priceless!
Mmmm. One of the first I've really enjoyed.
Excellent. Very stylish.
I love it and your colors are very similar to my house..except you have done some things better. The sewing room and porch are so lovely.

Beautiful! I love the choice of colors, definitely anti-depressive, and I like the way you've decorated. I got such a kick out of those little portraits above the kitty dishes... maybe that's just what my little old 18 yr. old Tabby needs to cheer her up!
Zohreh,
I love the placement of the pictures! The white frames and the use of space. The colours are excellent and really bring out the trim, shelves and furniture. You have really added a lot of life to a beautiful home! Congrads! (and your cat is so cute!)
Such a happy home! I'm begining to feel better just looking at the picks, anti-depressive for sure! ;)
I am in love with your beding. Can I be in love with a piece of fabric? Yes I can. Now I want to paint my home green and blue...
Zohreh!
Your house looks EXACTLY like what I thought it would! The personality of it matches you perfectly! ( well the you i remember, which is when you were about 10 yrs old lol but apparently youre still just as vibrant!).. its bright, creative, clever, and stylish - it looks like something out of a magazine, its AMAZING. im am severly jealous, but not suprised at all. You should be proud, you did a awesome job. Now come decorate my house!
- Chalayne
Thanks Chalayne, that is so sweet! :-D
I loooooooove what you did with the colors and I totally loved the cat section too. Very adorable! Now this is a "home"
I really love this entry. I think this may be my new favorite. I enjoyed the kitchen and bedroom especially. Very cool, very pretty. The cat one is too cute. Perfect.
Beautiful place, Z. Excellent cheery colors! You've done some amazing work here!
I love kitty's pictures, and the prayer corner in the dining room. The bright colors definitely are a nice (and well-needed) contrast to Michigan's 8 months of gloomy gray. Great job!
I love the colors and use of different items to brighten and liven up the walls.
Good job, Zohreh
I tried similar colors and it turned out to be a disaster...but you totally made it work! I'm impressed and very inspired! Definitely an inviting home that I would instantly feel cozy and comfortable in. I love all the small details that really bring everything together. Great job!!
Zohreh, your place is so super fabulous. :) Dream house for sure.
You know, I just spent 45 minutes picking out a green for my bedroom in my new house. I wanted something vibrant and serene. I had to settle for lazy and cheap. After looking at these photos I must say that you did a fantastic job altogether with the color scheme in picking something serene, fresh, and vibrant. I would've liked something like this for my new house had I seen this previously. Then to top it off, to find out where the inspiration came from! Fluoxetine! Brilliant to take a medication with such a good drug line and a bad rep and make it such a splendid design of colors for a home. Well thought out. Well planned and well executed.
You have a beautiful home! Thanks for sharing all the paint names. I especially love the plates on the window sill in the dining room and your final picture from the dining room. What a cool perspective of colors.
Your place looks great! Could you tell me where the green chairs in the living room and dining room hail from?
The green chairs are from the clearance section of Ikea (back in 2005).
The painting is mass produced :-( (I know! My husband hates that!). I found it at World Market and thought it would be really cute.
you ARE rich! and you must be happy, too! at least, your home made me happy! great home, beautiful colors
btw: tiny kitty with food dish, pictures at teeny kitty height: ADORABLE!!!!!!
I absolutely love this entry. The dining room wall colour, the blue lamp and the polka dot art really caught my eye.
your house is so beautiful! the color schemes are amazing! so fresh and crisp and happy feeling! =D i love it!
I love everything! It makes me happy and then it inspires me to redo my whole house to make it cheerful and beautiful !
Your home is such a cheerful place....sure to brighten any dreary day! I love what you've done with the colors!
Green! I love the blue and the green and the kitty and the kitty art.
I still like your colors and arrangement of art.
I love your use of color. The change of color from room to room really changes the feel of each room without changing the overall mood. You have great flow through out the house- You did such a great job!!
