Who was your favorite entry and why?
I absolutely love "East #6: Matthew's Gallery" --- for its warmth, creativity and eccentricities. I love the painting-centered decor with its unique Moroccan touches and colors. And the ballsy black walls are really fabulous! The decor gives a great sense of Matthew and his worldly loves. I would live there in a New York Minute! :)

What's your next improvement?
When I decorated my place I didn't have the funds to incorporate any kind of entertainment technology -- and I am a film fanatic, so I would love to install some kind of drop-down movie screen and projection system. In terms of furniture... I have had my eye on a gorgeous black leather storage ottoman at Room & Board, to make my bedside sitting area better for loafing. And I'd like to look into some possible curtains that would finish off the windows while preserving the nice view!

Wow....um...
I didnt really love this entry to begin with. I thought there was a lot of stuff going on, and not all of it came together in the right ways. Lots of clashes in textures, colors, etc. Seeing the slideshow (I cant watch the video at work) I like it even less. Its visually pretty, but the slideshow is almost entirely vignettes, none of which (besides the bookcase & closet shots) elaborate on small space solutions/creativity/unusual porblem solving.
Given some of the East Coast/West Coast entries I see this entry as having an uphill battle.
Love love LOVE it. You've convinced me to get those countertops in my own kitchen.
And where is the overhead kitchen light from?
Very nice space - love the African ladies, the books and the overall feel. Regarding the kitchen counters, I had a shiny black in a previous space, and they showed everything. While they look gorgeous, I'm not sure you could convince me to go back.

When design takes priority, the result is often strange closets.
Very cute space. Love the dresser, wondering where it was purchased from? Merci!
I love this space - It looks like an elegant little hotel room.
it reminds me more of shots from a store than a house tour.
we can't see anything. there's a partial of a livingroom (or bedroom) and the kitchen. everything else is accessories and a closet.
it is pretty and neat and suggests a great space, but how is anyone to know that without photos of the bedroom, living space, etc?
i take that back. i clicked on the Original Post link.
Don't have a sense of the space with all the vignettes.
So far the finalists have been entirely predictable.
still my favorite...:)
Too many vignettes to get a feel for how this space is utilized. This was not one of my favorites from the contest.
I agree with many of the comments - I don't get a sense of the space and the video was difficult to see.
Works for me. Congrats in advance on your win.
Ditto to the lack of spatial communication. How can you tell how the elements of this small space work together?
10 photos, not 1, NOT 1 of the actual apartment. This contest continues to amaze me this year.
This is the reason Luca on the East is the likely winner, he has the right space and we are able to see the space.
Nice items here..I guess, if that is what we are judging on..
I'll look forward to 09 with different rules perhaps.
It's such a small space, but she managed to create nice cozy areas, there are many nice pieces of furniture and lamps that in total come together to one cosmopolitan urban concept.
Love the bathroom color it's very fresh!
As Lady J mentioned, if you go back to the original post you will see much more of the apartment. Its only these 10 pictures that appear more as vignettes.
since the video covers the whole layout (if blurrily) it shouldn't be such a big deal that it's mostly vignettes. But I also think that the vignette-y things-- the composed bookshelf, the clear lamp bases, the black matching storage containers in the closet, even the matching "African ladies" as a focal point-- have a "spatial" function by distinguishing different spaces within one room. So chill, y'all.
"No wire hanges" AND Almodovar!
Nice little space, but other than the art and the paint colors nothing too imaginative, all very off the rack looking, although well selected. This last set of images didn't really add to the experience of the space.
I like the coziness and the sophistication of your place. Beautiful!!!
So many photos of vignettes that I have no idea what the apt. looks like.
Anyone know where those towels are from? I reallllly want to know........
