Name: Mihaela
Location: Iasi, Romania
I love to sit on my Moroccan poufs and see nothing of the busy world outside, just the mini-garden. When I bought the apartment, my tiny balcony was already enclosed with glass and had a built-in that provides much needed storage. It was perfect for the Romanian winter blizzards — not so perfect for my intentions. I wanted to create a zen garden, so I painted everything white and added wooden slabs and marbles.
I ended up with a vegetation jungle, because:
A. I love the look of savage English gardens.
B. I only have begun growing plants last year, so I've tried various things. There are scented herbs (basil, savory), some flowers and some decorative green plants.
C. There had to be many, many pots jammed on the shelf, so that my kitty cat won’t be able to climb up and destroy the pots.
Thanks Mihaela!

Shaw's Original Fir...
A little piece of heaven, you created there. Beautiful. I see kitty loves it, too.
Love your cat. They are the same the world over. And your garden looks Zen from here. Good job. It looks so cozy.
The great looking deck panels resemble mine fro IKEA that are my doormats.
Do they still sell those hippyvieja?
Beautiful creation! Glad to see your kitty has a special place in it. Thank you for sharing.
Lizzykewl, I searched the online store and did not find them. Makes me think they have been discontinuted. Ain't that always the case with IKEA? You find something you really like and "poof" it's gone. I got mine about 4 years back and originally used them as a bath mat outside of the clawwfoot tub in my space. Then moved into a space with a tiny, tiny bathroom and put them outside for doormats. Shame, they were really cheap, less than $10.00 @
That's lovely. Very peaceful. How precisely do you deter the cat from nibbling? I have 2 neighbor's cats that come around and I fear they'll nibble some of my terrace plants and get ill/destroy the plant.

Thanks for the comments!
@ Lizzykewl:
The wooden slabs were very cheap (around $3/pcs) and I bought them unpainted (raw greenish wood) then I coated them with wenge wooden laquer.
@cookandtell:
Cats only nibble certain plants, which attract them through smell. I've got cat herbs in another room, so she always goes in there for a treat an does not attack the flowers.
this is agreat idea for my romanian pied a terre.
Uber cute; nice oasis.
love it! & kitty is very sweet :)
OOh!
I am so jealous- lovely and cozy.
My yard is to big for me now. I wish I had something small and inviting as this.
