Name: Mika Dylan Jagger (2)
Location: The Netherlands
This is Mika's space. Dutch design minimalist cool, I think. This is my son's second room. His first is with his dad and which I created as well but with more time and resources. This time around it was created in a blank, new built, home, on a limited budget and resources, with old, repurposed pieces.
I love that it is simple, allows him space to grow and make his own and he can draw up the chalkboard paint walls and onto the ceiling. It's calming and he loves it there. With his name in washi tape and neon lighting he could spell his name about the same time he learnt to say it.
- The dressing table is an old IKEA cupboard, which had broken drawers and a sagging back. Pretty legs from Pretty Pegs and lots of fixing and it's the perfect height.
- The neon letters were on sale from two diffrent stores. The A is actually a "&" sign turned on it's side and finished with chalk letters. He can draw from floor to ceiling under neon lighting!
- What two year old has a pirate hat and gets to hang that hat on a tank!
Thanks, Lisa! Readers, see more about the creation of this room on The Designed Life.
