We love it when a collection is so strikingly displayed that it becomes the interior decor of a space. That's definitely the case with this milk glass collection:
The milky white pieces are displayed on white floating shelves against a deep blue backdrop. The dark background sets off the collection so nicely with a contemporary yet very accessible appearance. It appears this collection is being displayed in a mostly white guest room with blue accents. Not only is the milk glass display breathtaking, but check out the headboard, too:

Beautiful! Can anyone tell me why they are called 'milk glass'?
Cause it's milky? It's not really solid white and not clear...just a guess though.
I've been planning on starting a milk glass collection whenever my kitchen is done, and I have somewhere to display it. I love the way this looks!
This is stunning on the primary blue atop the white wedge shelf. I'd like to see a wider view of the bedroom to get a better sense of the room's proportions. More!! More!! Well done :)
Anybody know what brand/shade of blue that wall is? I'd love something very similar in my bedroom.
Very nice, but I would be afraid of knocking a piece off the shelf.
Oh so pretty!
I have my own milk glass collection, but this one is making me jealous! and very good idea against the blue... I might do something similar with a prune background...
Very pretty! This beats the heck out of my aunt's milk glass displayed in a china cabinet.
I'm pretty sure it's called "milk glass" because of the milky color. When my three-year-old saw my aunt's milk glass and learned what it was called, she started calling all the clear glasses she saw "water glass," and stained glass is now "juice glass."
@Kimota:
I have a very similar shade in my dining room. Mine is "Star Spangled Blue" from Behr. It's a great color. Very flattering to all complexions, soothing but not sleepy--I think it's a good choice for a bedroom.
Perfect combination -- I can't think of another background that would show off milk glass better. And the simple, neat arrangement works wonderfully too.
Love. Love. Love.
love it!
@Girl Jen - That is adorable!
This is gorgeous. Wish I had more space to do something similar with my amethyst colored old apothecary bottles!!
Wonderful!
where did you get the floating shelves from?
Nice! Reminds me of the Wedgewood 'Jasper' series
It's lovely, but this exact image was "discovered" by AT almost exactly a year ago now. I love you, AT, but you could do a better job on checking the archives.
Ah, I collect milk glass too. So pretty against the blue wall!
That is just gorgeous! I love milk glass (normally I lean towards the green variety, though), but this is lovely - and so crisp and fresh in a bedroom, too.
