The bones of the room were already in place, as this was first my son's nursery. I found the rose fabric at a discount store for $3.99 a yard and decided to run with it.
All the other fabrics were found at the same discount store, and I was able to create all of my bedding and linens for under $200.
I went outside the "baby store box" for the glider and did something custom at our local La Z Boy. We don't live in an area with a lot of wonderful children's stores, and I knew I wanted to be able to sit in whatever we went with. I was able to customize this for less than any good quality rocker you could get online.
I didn't have a lot of money for art. I purchased the silhouette print, but I created all the other art and collected other items from family, including a beaded purse that was her great, great, great grandmothers. All of the pictures are Milly's grandmothers' to great, great grandmothers' as babies and young women. I love the feel this gives to the space, and I think it's really nice to be reminded of the strong women who have come before us.
