We love the somewhat subdued color palette and the relaxed combination of the FLOR tiles in this room. The peacock wall decals and peacock pillow add just the right amount of umph!

"Of course we did get many of our inspiration from others who have posted their nurseries on your blog. We also did on a semi-budget, but a budget none-the-less," Kay told us.

LOVE this room--similar wallcolor to the bedroom we will be using as a nursery and we have a blue eames-ish rocker than we'll be using as well. Two questions: Which flor style did you use? Also, is that an oeuf crib?
Charming. Very fun and yet calm room.
I'm looking for those peacock wall decals. Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Many thanks!
Love this! I have a question for you - we bought a lowish-crib like that too (with no "room" for a skirt) - what did you put below the mattress (the dotted fabric). I'm at a loss - do we purchase a crib skirt? LOL. Thanks!!!
thanks for the comps!!
totheworld: we used two different Flor tile textures. one was "toy poodle" and the other was "walking on clouds"
We couldn't afford the ouef so we went for the parklane crib from babymod sold at walmart, waaay cheaper and still as stunning
stainedbeautiful: i got the decals from ebay. they were about $20 bucks each and they offer many colors, i searched "peacock decals ebay" hope that points you in the right direction
Oh this room is wonderful! A perfect mix of girly, modern, simple and whimsical.
lovely room, very classy and relaxing. Love the gray walls. Can you tell me what paint you used?
lauraloupa: the dotted fabric is a bedskirt from Dwell for Target. For right now the mattress is at the highest level so it can accommodate a skirt, but when she can stand up, we will lower the mattress to the lowest position, so I guess at that point we can't use a skirt or else it will be dragging on the floor.
Nudik: Actually the walls are brown, although the picture may make it seem gray =). The paint color Whitall Brown HC-69 by Benjamin Moore
I really love this room! I wouldn't have thought to use the dark walls, but it totally works!
ps - and I love Mo Williams too. I have the stuffed animals that correspond with the characters in the books - aren't they great?

Can you give some info on the rug - where to get one? Are those separate carpet squares? It looks great :)
As a pal of Kay's, I can tell ya that this room goes PERFECTLY with the rest of their lovely home!
Ohdeeoh - great choice!
LOve this room
Would really like to know where you got the curtains and rods? Looks like they are maybe on rings?????
Also, are you happy with the flor tiles???
Cute room, but you know I just do not get the fascination with FLOR. They're carpet tiles. (??)
They're insanely expensive (for what they are) padless carpet tiles that cost more than *hardwood* per square foot. Someone, somewhere, is laughing all the way to the bank.
I don't get it. Buy a rug.
We have the flor tiles in our son's room. They are great. With even one baby barf, the flor tiles will have paid for themselves. If you need to do a really thorough cleaning, you can just take the individual tile out, hose it off outside, let it dry and reinstall. So simple! And they come in great colors and patterns.
I love the room by the way. Great wall color.
the room looks beautiful. What color is your eames rocker. I want to get one but am not sure what color to get. I'm wondering if the colors on the modernica website are true to how the chairs actually look.
thanks!
Rhea: yes, those books are great!!
Slantedview: those are FLOR tiles (carpet tiles), you can visit their webpage and order through them, I ordered mine through a local showroom, got a 10% discount and free shipping.
pxlchk1: thanks for the comp, we opted not to buy a rug b/c we liked that we could mix and match the FLOR tiles and get a somewhat custom look, plus i think it is a great choice for a child's b/c they do tend to make a mess and if these ever got ruin I don't have to replace an entire rug, but just one or two tiles.
Nannersp: thanks hun! didn't know you were on here too!!
Janeymarae: Thanks! I actually made the curtains out of plain white sheets from target. Why sheets? it saved me a lot of time from having to see every single seam I only sewed a few. Then I added the moss ribbon to give it dimension. I sewed it on, but you could just use fusible tape. The rings and rods were from target. Not very expensive at all. I didn't line mine, but I suggest you do b/c the sun stained the white cotton and plus black will help your baby sleep. Just a few things I learned when she arrived =)
olastar: that we definitely are thinking too =)
junebugb: the eames rocker is celery color. We bought it from modernica at there warehouse sale for half the price. There pretty close I would say.
mrskayg: Thanks for the info on the peacock decals. Great nursery!
Thanks for the reply, also wanted to know what type of rings you used to hang the curtains? Is it the clip kind?
such a cute room! i am wondering about the dresser/changer. is it also the parklane from walmart? it seems a little bit darker than the crib, or is that just the lighting? i would like to get it but am hoping for an espresso color instead of the amber that seems to be advertised on their site. thanks!
I absolutely love your design aesthetic! Fantastic room. Can you tell me where you purchased the For Like Ever Poster?
cara o'd -
I know it's been a while, but if you are still wondering -- that looks like the Baby Mod "Olivia" crib from Wal-mart. Same line as the "Park Lane."
Very pretty!

oh sorry for the late reply..hope this still helps
Janymarae: the rings are basic clip ones from target in nickel
collete123: the for like ever poster is from here http://www.vllg.com/products/Village/Villageposter_limited/
cara o'd: the crib and dresser are both from walmart, but the crib is the olivia and the dresser is the parklane the amber color is not as light as you think it's a nice medium dark shade. not close to espresso though
This is such a pretty room! I really like the dark walls, I would not have thought using such a combination in a nursery but it works very, very well! You have great taste.
i didn't even notice the white crib is sitting on a finished wood base until i saw the shot of the couple sitting in front of it. how cool! it just blends right into the wood floors until you actually notice it. i like it!

I was wondering if you could share your color choices for the FLOR tiles. It's such a great combination!
