Easter bunnies are about to make their appearances across malls in America. That means it's time to get those Easter baskets together. If you celebrate Easter but want to stick to a more minimalist look for the baskets, check out what's Abbey of Aesthetic Outburst put together.
Instead of a basket, Abbey scored some black metal buckets and used cardboard letters on magnets to personalize them. No pastel eggs for Abbey this year. She's going with silver and gold - so chic! The best thing about these buckets is you can reuse them throughout the year - think sandbox, collecting seashells, at the farmer's market, and for Halloween. For a sneak peek at what Abbey is putting into her minimalist baskets, check her out at Aesthetic Outburst.

I like the idea of a bucket in lieu of a basket OR a black basket in lieu of, say, a pink basket. But a black bucket? Doesn't work for me.
I like to use pails that we use at the beach for Easter baskets - they last about a year of use around here and since we live in the sunshine state it's like the initiation of summer to get your new beach pail.
That is a gorgeous Easter basket!
who knew -- guess it turns out I'm a bit of a traditionalist? black at Easter just isn't doing it for me. cute idea for Halloween, though.
Easter baskets fall into the 'major tradition' category for me- meaning I don't care about the look or style.
We have one basket per kid (you always have the same basket- they double as seasonal decor). They get filled, wrapped in cellophane & we hide them. My parents get VERY creative hiding too... a minimalist look would make it almost too hard!! We had trouble finding flashy, obvious baskets sometimes! lol
That said, I could totally do the minimalist thing (this basket included) for the rest of the decor... :)
There are many beautiful minimalist easter baskets out there, but this isn't one of them... too austere for the occasion in my opinion.
Perfect for the Studio 54 easter egg hunt.
Yeah there's nothing kids hate more than bright colors and flashy details
Yay! I have done buckets instead of baskets every year! My bucket color choice is a little less .. black .. :\
What I love about it is that we can use the bucket throughout the year (for crayons, squinkies, chalk, etc.) and don't just have a tacky pastel basket lying around.. ugh.
