Recently we've noticed a mini-trend gaining popularity - the use of mailboxes in the playroom or other children's spaces. The ones we've seen have run the gamut from actual mailboxes used as is or cut down to size to toy versions made specifically with kids in mind. Whatever the box itself, we love the sight of these mailboxes popping up everywhere, especially in an age of emails, texts and tweets.
Here are just five we've seen, but we bet there are many more out there:
1. Pink penpal mailbox via Penny Carnival.
2. Valentine mailbox via On-Hand Modern.
3. Mailboxes as organizers via Home Made Simple.
4. Vintage-Inspired Wooden Toy Mailbox. (no longer for sale)

where's that hanging chair from in the first photo?
It's from IKEA, I recently bought two, still waiting for hubby to help hang them.....
One of my favorite childhood memories is playing with a mini tin mailbox that my grandma had out on her coffee table. She would always fill it with a treat or note for me to find when I would come visit. Love the idea of having a big one in a kid's room!
Oh, I love that tiny red one. I recently spray painted an old goodwill find in pink for my daughter's room:
