If we saw the phrase 'mirrored closet doors' in a rental ad, we'd immediately picture those sliding styles of the 70s and 80s framed in bright metallic trim, and probably move on to the next listing. It would be a shame then if these were what they actually looked like...

Probably not what I would choose, but they look good and it helps that they are right across from a window to bounce the light. This picture reminds me of an apartment we lived in when I was little. The whole wall behind the dining area was mirrored and I loved it. I think kids like anything that allows showmanship. That's how our big windowseat in our house became a stage.
Hm, if I saw mirrored closet doors in a rental ad, I'd just think, "well, they can always be covered with pretty paper if they're awful" and see if the rest of the apartment was appealing. Nice mirrored doors like these are lovely, but ugly ones are too small of a thing to be a deal breaker.
I used to have mirrored doors and I'd kill to have them again. Not having to put up a big wall mirror saves tons of space in a small place. Hmm, wonder how hard these are to install.
Either these or the tacky 80's ones, I'd still skip. If I want a mirror, I'll hang a mirror. That's my problem.

tenderleaf--i'm with you. i think it's all in the application, like all things. if it's clean and minimalist, i think it can be quite pretty. but yeah, i've seen tacky versions too. i like this particular example.

We had mirrored closet doors in our first condo, almost 30 years ago. They were wonderful and sure added light to the bedroom. Made the tiny room feel more spacious. I would be happy to have mirrored doors again, especially in a small space.
To my eye, what makes these stand out is that they lack the cheap, tacky frames that so many mirrored doors have. These look like simple, minimalist panes mounted on the doors.
Makes all the difference in the world.
