We spent a lot of time in the Kitchen over the last four days, whether it was preparing our Thanksgiving meal or foraging for leftovers two days later. Had there been a mirror in there, we might have been able to talk ourselves out of that third slice of pie.
Seriously, though, kitchens are a terrific place for a mirror. The glass material is infinitely cleanable, and mirrors reflect light and movement in small spaces, including kitchens. These are just a few examples we love:

Love the first photo.
I love the first photo, but I think it's not something I'll want in my kitchen altogether with the stainless steel flashbacks (had in our rented apartment in the posh development by the Thames) - imagine how often you will need to clean them provided you actually cook in your kitchen..
Meant Splash backs in my prev.post. The forth picture is actually a mirror splash back, a cleaning nightmare..
The mirrored backsplash would be a nightmare to clean, but I think that the cabinet doors wouldn't be too bad, and they're so pretty!
Why would a mirrored backsplash be so difficult to clean? Seems like it'd be easier than tile & grout.
I like the glass backs in the open shelving quite a lot.
It's not that mirror's difficult to clean, it's that it must be kept scrupulously clean in order to not look positively dirty.
But yes-- mirror in the kitchen would be a good weight-loss aid.
this is a cleaning nightmare.
I'm with everyone else on the mirrored back splash- too much effort to keep it clean. The others are very pretty, though!
CAn we have a moratorium on all posts that refer to eating in terms of guilt, shame, bad behavior, etc.? If you want to eat pie, eat the damn pie and like it.
I like these and they're no more work than glass would be.
My mom's kitchen used to have a mirrored backsplash like the fourth pic. Yes, it was a pain to keep clean. It needed to be cleaned EVERYday, no matter what you were cooking. They replaced it with tile a few years ago and it no longer looks dirty all the time, but there is something to be said for all that mirror in her dark galley kitchen. It really did brighten up the place.
I have a mirror backsplash and inside of one cabinet and I love it! I got is recently and wouldn't rade it for anything! Just use auto glass cleaner and it clean right up so easily, just a few wipes. And it really doesn't have to look perfect all of the time.
FantasticMrFaux, seconded. It's not genocide, y'all, it's *PIE*. Food is not evil, sinful, terrible, or bad. It's just food.
