Supposing you're all about symmetry, the idea of mismatched bedside tables might make you bonkers. I, however, have always lived this way -- steering clear of too often (if ever) buying "sets". Like using chairs as bedside tables, pairing two side tables that were not meant for each other is a way to personalize the most personal room in the house.
