White Enamel Flatwa...
It was insane at my store. I got there at 8, and lucikly they were still unloading so you could still get stuff. Still kinda pricey, but really cute.
Yup, I sure did... three hours later, and no signs of recovery, either! Looks like I'll be hitting the stores at lunch.
Yikes! Glad I managed to order my towels before the site went down. I stopped by a target this morning on my way to work for something non-missoni related and it was a mob scene. Good luck to anyone hoping to snag something in-store.
target website crashed...living in NYC, I have no hope of getting my hands on any of it unless I look on ebay...booo! (I really wanted the blanket!!)
Ah, the site is back up, and everything I put in my cart before the crash was still there. Zig-zags, away!
the site is still down... I was able to grab some items around 7 am online but most popular items were back ordered already even at that time...
The site is busy now, but if you're persistent, you can get through. A lot of the housewares are sold out now, it's true...
will they be restocking any of the housewares? i'd like to have matching stuff but half of what i want is sold out already. site is running pretty lousy, I try to add in stock stuff to my cart and it just brings up the cart without the stuff added... probably sold out.
I live right by a Target in Chicago, and there was a mini-mob scene there this morning. Literally women running through the store grabbing anything they could. I picked up the bedding, the little gold pillow and a couple of clothing items before work. I really wanted the throw but those were snapped up immediately.
I managed to snag one of the picture frames and a cardigan online, and will probably swing by my local store at lunch to check out what's left of the rest of the housewares. I'm in a semi-rural area so I'm thinking stuff might not fly off the shelves as quickly here as it does in other areas, but I could be proven wrong. Luckily there aren't a whole lot of must-haves for me, but I'm curious enough that I want to see it in person before it all disappears.
I was just at two Targets....completely sold out. They were taking the signs down and said they weren't restocking. Someone please tell me this isn't true! I NEED a blakent!
Things were INSANE in LA this morning. People had multiple shopping carts full of merch - spending at least $2000 a pop. I got a couple towels and am happy :)
Heard that the items look cute, but quality is low. I'd rather get the real thing... I'm very happy with a Missoni Bath rug I purchased a while ago. A bit pricey, but it holds up in the wash.
I was able to make a purchase online during lunch, but when I looked at the website at 7am I was shocked that so many items had sold out already. I want one of the Ribbon Pillows and they sold out so quickly! I live in Brooklyn and I would NOT go to the Target store here. It's typically sold out of everything in general and you have to get an employee to check stock in the back. I can't even imagine that it's like today.
I was driving into work when I remembered that today was the day, so I stopped off at the Vacaville store (in Nor Cal) and it was totally pleasant. They had very small quantities of things like the bike/suitcases, and mostly a single size run in everything else. There were some other people there but everyone was super friendly, we chatted each other up.
I am hearing horror stories....yuck, I can't handle that kind of behavior. It's why I avoid sample sales!
I got to Target at 8:10 and it was nearly all gone - piled high in carts of a handful of women! They were taking everything and sorting out what they wanted later on. The stuff I could see was hit or miss quality-wise, some if it really was poorly made. I got my umbrella and tote bag and got the heck out of there.
I also can't believe that at 11am this morning, there was already tons of it on ebay - with ludicrous prices. Greedy opportunists!
LOL, yeah it's still down. I'm not a big fan of Missoni, I'm surprised they are so much more popular than the other designers at Target. Some of their home design products looked nice.
Still cannot get on the website...time to head over there after work tonight!
I had no idea! I was just in Target last night too. Theres a couple pillows I want online...out of stock now.
I was able to get on at 10:30 am this morning and bought a few clothing items. It didn't seem like that much was out of stock at that time, maybe 40% of the stuff, and nothing disappeared from my cart, which surprised me.
I just looked at the stuff being sold on eBay - this is so pathetic. This is TARGET people - the quality isn't even that great. Who in their right mind would pay the prices these people on eBay are asking for this stuff? $125.00 for a baby's footie pajama, $400 for a carry-n suitcase? People who pay these prices for Target quality have lost their minds.
Craziness..... What's more insane is the fact that, although we find it disgusting that people are reselling stuff on Ebay for a massive price hike, there are STILL people willing to pay it, and so it will of course happen!
How brand-name crazy are we? I did go to Target today during my lunch break (I work in a suburb of Chicago - I wanted to check out what all the fuss was about) and EVERYTHING was gone from the shelves. Everything. I was in total shock. As I walked around the store, I saw a woman down the aisle shove the last two of the larger, black and white zig-zag bags into her cart without even thinking about it. Did she really need two? I have to wonder: Do we really actually LIKE or want these items? Or are we completely brainwashed by our brand-name and design recognition? Something to ponder.
The Target near me had many items; however, while the patterns are nice, the quality is incredibly poor. I ended up not buying anything.
Those E-Bay resellers are disgusting.
They bring new meaning to the terms "pushy" and "avaricious".
Target will re-stock.
Boycott the ebay resellers!

The ebay-ers are liberating good style from the style-free zones of America and sending it on to places that love and care about it!
The website is up and running now, but most of the items are now out of stock. I don't think those are coming back. I think they're more "sold out." Does anyone know if Target plans to replenish this collection or is it "when it's gone, it's gone?"
P.S. I agree with a lot of people here who question the quality of these pieces. Everything looks nice on the website, but I doubt it looks that good in person for me to claw everybody's eyes out. Can somebody please tell me where it is made? Let them sell it on eBay! Once the word is out about the quality, they'd be stuck with those pieces. Good luck storing all that stuff!
Plus, if you're going to be mad at someone, be mad at Target. Retail markup is like 10x. Plus they purposely made only limited amounts of this stuff to create a frenzy. If they were your friend they'd have made much larger quanties, beefed up their website to accomodate the additional traffic, and sold less of the stuff in places that don't care about it and more in places that do. The ebay-ers are doing a lot of work so that you can sit on your butt and easily order this stuff. They deserve to make something for their time and effort.
The employees at my Target said they thought they'd get 1-2 restocks "before it goes on clearance" but who knows. Boy, Target did a poor job of preparing them for today. The employees I saw were all thoroughly confused (and amused) about why there were herds of women going buckwild in their store this morning. I felt bad for the ladies trying (in vain) to stock the accessories wall. People were rooting through their boxes and pulling things out of their hands!
I like how you think, Tinka! Folks, how is somebody paying a markup on ebay any different than somebody paying markup because it's missoni!?
If someone's willing to pay, somebody will be willing to sell.
The Missoni sections in Target in Atlantic Station looked so sad. There was barely anything left. I got there around 3pm. The employees seemed bewildered. I had no idea it was going to be such a big deal. I saw a lady with a basket FULL of Missoni stuff (she had picked through the leftovers). It was all very bizarre. Has there ever been a Target frenzy like this before? It might as well been Black Friday.
Harl3y, everything I've seen is made in China. The makeup brush sets have already been recalled!
Quite frankly a lot of these comments belong on whitewhine.com. I don't get why these are such a big deal...seems like a status thing to me.
I wouldn't shop at Target anyway (although I do love a lot of their designer stuff) I am disappointed that nobody has mentioned the boycott against Target because of the fact that they donate to anti-gay groups. I wonder how this will affect their relationships with designers (many of whom are gay) in the future.
I have to admit I really don't see what the fuss is about. There are a couple of individually cute pieces here, but as a whole it looks like my mom's keepsakes box from the 60's...just another mass-produced line made available at a slightly cheaper rate than the original line.
Don't people have better things to do with their lives?
I am selling both my Liberty of London and Missoni bikes on eBay (now)…starting bid is basically what they sold for in the store. Not looking to make a huge profit like most people, just feeling icky after watching how ugly & mean people were getting at the Missoni launch. After having spent the last year gazing lovingly at my Liberty bike (it’s so beautiful), it’s time to say goodbye. I’ll use the money towards a plain bike with no hard feelings :)
I just looked at the stuff being sold on white cardigan - this is so pathetic. This is TARGET people - the quality isn't even that great. Who in their right mind would pay the prices these people on eBay are asking for this stuff? $125.00 for a baby's footie pajama, $400 for a carry-n suitcase?
