Don't get out much? We covered Fresh Direct yesterday, so here's another great service company to add to the list of ways of getting help at home. Mitchell's Home Delivery Service is one of those old fashioned businesses that thrive in New York's crazy, urban culture. Started in 1946 as a newspaper delivery service by Al Newman, who had just been discharged from the army, it has grown with succeeding generations to deliver over 250 newspapers and publications a day (from the NY Times to foreign language and international papers) along with milk, soda, bottled water, bagels, pet foods and assorted breads. Hey, if they are making the trip, might as well throw in some shopping. (via MUG) MGR
