A wipes box is rather universal in a nursery or children's room. They're aren't however, attractive. Although many companies have tried to make them so in recent years, we like the idea of customizing your own to make your space feel more put together. Enter, Mod Podge.
This is a great craft if you have leftover fabric from another project and want to put it to good use to add a bit of color to the space. Likewise, it could be a fun gift for a baby shower, or even if you use them other places in the home (like in the kitchen to clean sticky fingers) and don't really want a container that screams BABY WIPES!
The wipes box above is the handiwork of Kathy of Merriment Design. Visit her blog for more photos and a great tutorial.

super cute! love the paper that she is using. mod podge to the rescue again!!
Ooh I have leftover fabric from my baby's glider upholstery... totally going to do this.
i did this but with scrapbook paper. i used a green wipes box so it matched everything. i also put my daughters name on the front. we still use it 3 years later!
Someone please help! I'm always seeing references to Mod Podge but it doesn't exist in the UK. What type of glue is it? My guess is it's a PVA glue (runny white stuff that turns clear when it dries), but maybe it has some magical additives that make people rave about it?
Glad you like it! This is actually fabric (from Anna Maria Horner's Good Folks line) - rather than paper. I am a fabric junkie but I'd love to hear if someone tries this with paper instead.
@ BritishMummy - sounds about right. Personally I don't understand why people love it so much but that probably has something to do with the fact that the smell makes me nauseous.
Great idea!
P.S...Beautiful ring!
Ah, just what I needed! Bought a Pampers wipes case because the turquoise-y color matches the decor, but come to find out what I thought was removeable carton or paper with the name of the brand, is actually imprinted on the case. Bookmarking this.
I'm seeing all sorts of possibilities for covering other plastic containers here. This could really amp up the style on an inexpensive clear plastic bin, as well as hide the contents.
I love this! Doing it right away. Britishmommy, I think you can mix regular school glue with water (equal parts)...?
Also, I have been thinking for a while of putting toddler wipes inside of a decorative tissue holder. A liitle less work than this cute idea... That plastic wipe box does nothing for my newly decorated bathroom :(
Great fabric choice. Love Anna Maria Horner!
I did this also! I scanned fabric from my son's nursery, then printed it on cardstock and glued it to the front of the box in the shape of the label (I had the newborn wipes so it's a white translucent box).
I still use it 4.5 years later (and made one for my daughter 2.5 years ago)!
kitjule -- scanning the fabric is brilliant! Thanks for the idea!
I'm a British ex-pat and I LOVE Mod Podge. White glue works sort of the same but it yellows after a few years. Mod Podge stays lovely and clear.
I used leftover shelf liner / patterned contact paper on mine. Sticks just fine
