Q:I am looking for two chairs to be accent kitchen table chairs. Our table is wood, painted silver, and the six chairs are vintage school chairs with a very faded yellow paint. I love the chairs and don't want to paint them, but I would like two accent chairs that are a little more modern since the chairs and table and the wallpaper (Amalienborg Celadon) in the coffee maker nook all tend toward country.
Our kitchen is white with a grey/white marble backspash and honed black granite countertops. I love the Eames molded plastic chairs and the metal navy chairs, but I don't want our kitchen to look like "the kitchen design blogs made". Any other suggestions? Thanks.

The description is not what the photo is showing me. The photo shows a wood table with a very bronzey or copper paint finish, and the chairs look to be more of an oak stain color. I don't see yellow or silver. I assume the table can be extended, because six chairs wouldn't fit there.
So what exactly are kitchen accent chairs? And why do you need the extra seating? It seems to me that adding two chairs when there are already six just clutters the space. You should look at replacing two of the chairs. I like modern classics like wishbone chairs.
Cute room. I think a pair of these Navy Chairs in a dark grey or black, glossy finish would look really nice. Or if you want more color, a bright yellow would also look good. Here is a link to dwr, although I'm sure you could find them cheaper if you google Navy Chair 111. I also agree with PI that from this photo it looks like using only 4 chairs would be better - maybe store 2 of your chairs when you don't have company?

I love those chairs. I think it's the table that makes it look country, how about keeping the chairs and replacing the table? Maybe something round?
THESE are becoming as ubiquitous as the molded chairs but I think they work well with blending country and a more modern look. The "real" ones at DWR are twice as $$ and I think these are much nicer. I like the white with the wood base... Good luck!
I agree with Smarteralec -- The Industry West stuff is really cool, and fits in with about any decor.
Great question! Whatever you do, I think that, given the white in the light fixture above the table and on the curtains, you must go with chairs that will be white/silver/transparent/some mix of these.
I must say that as I was reading it I immediately envisioned two Eames molded white chairs with chrome/silver legs.
However, if you want something different I found couple of really cool chairs that would work as well if not better. The first photo shows the idea that you are going for, which is the mix of traditional and modern vibe (http://www.flickr.com/photos/8230585@N06/3427450576/).
The other has a very interesting metal construction, to which I would add white seat pillows (http://yourhomyhome.com/modern-creative-cafe-interior-%E2%80%93-furniture-design-by-kidosaki-architects-studio/).
Taking into account that I do not know how much the chairs above would cost, or how you would go about procuring them, here's another idea: IKEA TOBIAS chair (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20115038/). Interestingly, this actually might be my favorite one for your space. And the fact that you would pay only $80 per chair makes it a true winner. With this one I would also recommend white seat pillows.
Have you thought to paint the chairs? They look great to me ..the table legs have great design think out side the box add color.
