It's home automation month here at Unplggd and although we love all the robots and gadgets our house can possibly hold, we're still not completely sold on our house "doing" things for us. Sure walking into a room and having your lights turn on is awesome, but that's sort of where our fascination with things stopped — that is until we saw this home in Kansas City with super cool automated windows. Want to see what's behind them?

We mentioned this house awhile back over on Apartment Therapy and our interest in the idea hasn't gone away. Our own home has tall, 40' windows and the idea of having them close during the hottest parts of the day is ridiculously attractive right now.

If you drive by this home during different times throughout the day, you'll notice that the blinds open and close during the hottest and sunniest times. With a stairway like that, we're sure they reap the benefits when it comes to their electric bills!

Are you still on the fence about home automation, or are you full speed ahead? Tell us what parts of your home could use a little electrical magic and what parts you'd prefer stay the same, in the comments below!
