The fascinating thing is…what inspires me, may not inspire you. In fact, we may both look at the same image and be moved by completely different things. In this post, I’ve pulled together images of modern bathrooms that inspire me. But I would also love to hear from you. What elements speak to you? What do you like, and what would you change? Are there any ideas that you're dying to try for yourself?
Inspiration can be found everywhere. But it’s also intensely personal (and that’s what I love about it!)

I'm inspired by all of those things, too. I've been trying to work out how best to design our guest bath, so this is a timely post :)
The last one...with the funky tiles on the wall...VERY cool.
That first bathroom would looking amazing in candlelight.....such a warm, yummy blue.
Some of these bathrooms are lovely, but others seem to belong on a horror film set. I do really dig that lucite chair in the Metropolitan Home scene. I always go for modern tongue-in-cheek hommages to antique and traditional shapes.
I was going to say something about the lack of shower curtains, but then remembered my mom's bathroom in Thailand. The entire thing is tiled so that she doesn't need a curtain. The entire room is tiled to drain toward the shower area which is a little lower than the rest of the room. To clean she just wipes down the tiles.
Cold, cold, cold. That first shower will never get nice and warm and steamy.
I really never get how a showerhead above a bathtub without a curtain/glass around it doesn't freeze you and cause water splashing all over the bathroom...
Yeah you can have tiles all around but still they're gonna get wet and dirty looking real fast.
Wow, I thought I would like more of these than I did. #2 is great but a lot of the others seemed really cold and sort of sad.
Number nine is great with details. Some bathroom are really not my style but i love to see the variety in design.
sign me up for numbers 1 & 17 : )
I absolutely adore no. 1. Sleek, elegant, balanced, airy... What else would you need?
Back to the comments on how a shower without walls, screen, or curtain will never be comfy... I live in a country where the weather is warm year-round, so it is not a concern. I'm building my first house and this sleek concrete look has been on my mind from day one. This definitely reinforces my will to see it happen!
