It's a beautiful day outside, and we're starting to uncurl from our winter hibernation. What better way than with some citrusy-bright beach bungalow inspiration? Sunset visits the (inland) home of Russell and Susan Ortiz and comes back with some tips for this airy look.

While some folks feel that white walls look unfinished, white provides a bright backdrop in this house for crisp yellows and greens. Simple, natural materials and textures keep everything from looking too crisp, and the occasional bit of orange, like the couch above, warms things up.

With the demise of Domino, I'm happy to renew my subscrip to Sunset as they take up some of the slack!
I'm drooling over those yellow lamps!
I am not usual a fan of beach house decor. However, this space is vibrant and fun. Love it! I want to vacation here.
I really do enjoy the teal/yellow/lime green color combination. It always looks so fresh and crisp. Especially when you've got white in the mix.
Doesn't she own Shine Everyday?
What a fabulous look! Those lamps and that glamorous white buffet are perfection: Hollywood Regency meets Ultimate Beach Chic! Shine Home really lives up to their name---their products are truly dazzling.
Seaside - Yes, Susan and Russ Ortiz (the homeowners in this story) own Shine Home (shineeveryday.com or shopshinehome.com). Such great style!
What a fresh, crisp look - LOVE the orange sofa -where can I get one? Practical and glamorous, just what I need!
My kids are pigs. That orange vinyl sofa looks fantastic and indestructable and cruelty free as a bonus. I'll check their site to see if they are still selling that item and while I'm there I must have that yellow architectural style looking lamp which my kids better keep their paws off.
Great stuff !!! I Love this cheery look.
I am an interior decorator. I use Shine Home lamps frequently in my projects. My clients love the way the lamps are so unusual and focal points in a room.
Because of the great dramatic look these lamps give,
I have gotten many referral and many have turned into clients.
