Does anyone know where I can find the metal tracks to support the plexi panels?

I've been looking for something like for ages! Right down to the plexi doors.

The aluminum U channel is sold at Home Depot, amongst other places.

Does anyone know what the name of the product is?

Another nice touch in this same vein, mount the cabinets directly to the wall. No legs at all. This works on any cabinets made for kitchen uppers. Just hang them low and you have a modern credenza.

One thing I've always wondered... the LACK line could be modified in millions of ways, (none of which are "extremely" easy); yet (besides the straight shelf) the only ways IKEA has actually configured them aren't 100% useful in their original form. Isn't one of their designers looking around the net (hell, even on this blog) and ever said, "good idea, I should get on it"... ?

Let's see, they've the shelving unit (for cds and tiny stuff), bookcase, pendant lamp, coffee tables, tv units, book case lighting, clamp lighting, spotlight, table lamp, "zig-zag" shelf and straight shelf; yet none of them have an ounce of the style or wit as this "hacked" version. I'm fearful though, that if they DID build something nicer looking they'd add an irrational price tag to it (such as every "decent" looking piece of furniture in the store) even if all they did was add 4 pieces of pexiglass and their own 2 dollar legs. lol

I love that the remotes work through the plexi. It's a perfect solution to ugly electronics.
