Shaw's Original Fir...
i want the mash studios bed and the wall behind it-- is that concrete?
I don't consider the Azzo chairs as being new furniture "inspired" by mid-century modernism. It's a blatant knock off of an Eames shell chair with wooden dowel base. There's nothing creative about it.
I really do like the bed from mash studios bed and the rocking chair from CB2, though.
I love the couch. It looks soooo comfortable. Too bad it only comes in that yellow.
Er, I love the *2nd* couch. The Petrie is nice too, but I love comfy arms.
I think one of the most appealing aspects of MCM pieces (especially the originals) is that they were designed for the smaller American dwellings of the time (1940s and 1950s) so their scale and style are more flexible for smaller spaces, and that's a REALLY attractive alternative to mainstream American furniture, which is often large and clunky and scaled for the McMansions of the 1990s and 2000s.
So if McMansion residents start consuming MCM en masse, would it be called McCentury Modern? Manufacturers would have to devise new pieces such as "The Double Womb Chair" or an Eames rocker with built-in remote control for TV, Blu-Ray and all gaming consoles.
I have found some pretty good looking bamboo blinds in here http://www.blindsuk.net/ . They are wonderfully fitting these types of interiors!
