While designers come up with countless versions of chairs, door knobs, lamps, coat hooks...the lowly dish rack has mostly been left ignored despite a dire need of refresh (we guess it's partially due to their love or hate status). So we have to say we're very eager to see something brand new in the department of dish racks, like these small space designs from Ernest Perera...
Spaniard Ernest Perera's Aurea collection of dish and wine racks were designed for Delica, and were awarded top prize at the 2008 Découvertes ELLE DECO Maison Objet trade show in Paris. No word about exact materials used, but it's advertised as waterproof. Looks like something that could be roughly recreated by a patient DIY crafter, doesn't it?

is this a drying rack?... or just for display/storage?
Believe it's a drying rack. It wouldn't be bad in a NYC kitchen sans dishwasher, as so many of them are.
How limited. What happens when you have pots, pans, lots of plates and glasses. Guess the designer doesn't do house work or uses one plate and glass at a time. I am a dish rack whore and always looking for the perfect rack. My personal like are the foldable X shaped ones that accommodate so much more than slick looking do nothings.
Really interesting styles of dish racks. I often prefer more traditional designs. I've ordered my dish rack at Ballard Designs and it has all i need and it has a great quality.
