Designed by Paul Raff Studio, this house is both gorgeous and green. According to Arch Daily, it was oriented on the property to maximize natural light and features a triple-height slate wall that helps to retain the solar energy warmth throughout the home during the evening...
...as well as looking beautiful (and acting as a chalk drawing surface for the kids - as seen in photo 2).
The glass privacy screen/window that faces the street (photo 1) is made up of "475 panels of inexpensive vertically stacked glass panels" that allows for plenty of light to enter the space. From the inside it "evokes being caught up in the crest of a wave".
Minimal yet very warm (we think that it is thanks to the natural materials such as wood and slate as finishes) the home is another in the growing list of examples of luxurious yet conscious home design.
