Of all the trends to emerge in the past few months, patchwork is probably among my least favorite. This week, I challenged myself to find some pieces even the most patchwork-phobic decorator could adore.
If, like me, you find those quilted chesterfields, divans, and — gasp — womb chairs more dizzying than drool-worthy, take note. The subtle palettes and luxurious textures in this collection just might win you over.

Good finds--makes me think of some of the work of Australian artist Rosalie Gascoign: http://www.roslynoxley9.com.au/artists/15/Rosalie_Gascoigne/298/29484/
I would like to argue that ANY patchwork quilt = GOOD patchwork quilt.
love the quilts, especially the first one... think i'll try to make one like that!!
I adore patchwork quilts. These examples, however, are not my taste.
I like some of those items. I wish the article author had taken the trouble to 'contact for pricing' for us.
"Modern Patchwork You Can Live With"
Is the thought that we couldn't live with traditional patchwork?
And please note: "patchwork" does not necessarily mean "quilted." Patchwork is piecing fabric together. Quilting is stitching through multiple layers of fabric; the top layer may or may not be patchwork.
You can't get more authentic than this:

and not a heinous pinwheel in sight!
I love patchwork - the simpler the better. Patchwork - not for patchwork sake, but functional and appealing!
